So today I have been gamble free for 3 whole weeks which is massive for me.
I have noticed the urges are less and less now and I can focus on things a lot better now.
instead of holding back money for gambling I have now been able to treat my three beautiful children to bowling, cinema and a few treats each that I normally in my mind would think I can’t buy those things because it’s to feed those slot machines with.
life is slowly getting better and i appreciate this group so much, it’s a place I log into if I do get an urge and it’s all I need to remind myself that just for today I will not gamble.

Great stuff Mel..............just a word of warning though. I've been in a similar place to you and then BAM! I get sucked into it again. While you are feeling strong and happy, ring Gamcare and get yourself some more advice before you have a relapse - like how to self-exclude online and how to but blocks on your mobile and laptop, creditcards and bank.
What I found a massive help is that when I wanted to gamble, when I got that urge, I couldn't gamble because I had put the blocks on. You can always find a way eventually if you really want to gamble but its not easy and can't be done quickly and thats where these blockers and bans are so helpful.
I use this site too and it helps me a lot to resist gambling. The money and time I've wasted gambling instead of using it with my family can never be recovered and you must put that behind you but hopefully it won't happen again in the future.

yes I already have all the blocks in place, my downfall was going into my local bingo hall and playing the slots there but I’m now excluded from there too so all is good ?
