Hi all. Checking in again!!

Jim I'm sorry to read your post. The same happened to me. Gambling ruined my relationship.

For those who don't know my story it can be found in the new member intros under "just lost my family"

But I've stayed away from it and worked hard and now I've got her back and things are going well.

She even told me in the form of a small card how proud she is that Im trying so hard to stay away and fighting the urges off.

I know I'm very lucky to be back with her and the kids.

I'm NEVER going back to old life of hard gambling. It goes way past being about the money. It's not worth losing the people that matter most for a punt.

I'm sorry, but it's NOT.

Jim stay strong my friend and you never know what's around the corner.

Oh and in 30 days I saved £410.
Bargain.

We CAN and we WILL.

So, here we are on the first day back to work for many of us, and I hope it wasn't too bad! I had a quick pint on the way home, in a very nice pub overlooking the Thames, and noted someone doing his *nuts* on the fruity. Then he left, losing, in a huff. In the old days, I'd have been tempted, but didn't go near it. I have to say, I was bored just looking at it. As it happens, he came back and shuffled more notes in it. Suffice to say, I left shortly after with this loser still on it; he was starting to smack the buttons and those of us in the pub noticing clearly thought - sad loser.

In the past, that might have been us. However, we are GF today, and choose to be tomorrow. We are not that person in the pub, or that person counched over a screen, or that person clutching that betting slip or being smirked at by bookies' staff. WE ARE GAMBLING FREE. WE HAVE CHOSEN LIFE!

Thank you everyone for checking in and your kind comments, too. We are all in this together and although haven't got so much free time, and so cannot always respond to our posts, I will always update our rollcall every day. Please, keep GF; today AND tomorrow.

*** JOKE OF THE DAY ***

After a few days, the Lord called to Adam and said, "It is time for you and Eve to begin the process of populating the earth so I want you to kiss her."

Adam answered, "Yes Lord, but what is a kiss?"

So the Lord gave a brief description to Adam who took Eve by the hand and took her to a nearby bush. A few minutes later, Adam emerged and said, "Thank you Lord, that Was enjoyable."

And the Lord replied, "Yes Adam, I thought you might enjoy
that and now I'd like you to caress Eve."

And Adam said, "What is a 'caress'?"

So the Lord again gave Adam a brief description and Adam went behind the bush with Eve. Quite a few minutes later, Adam returned, smiling, and said, "'Lord, that was even better than the kiss."

And the Lord said, "'You've done well Adam. And now I want
you to make love to Eve."

And Adam asked, "What is 'make love' Lord?"'

So the Lord again gave Adam directions and Adam went again to Eve behind the bush, but this time he reappeared in two seconds.

And Adam said, "Lord, what is a 'headache'?"

We CAN and we WILL!

P.S. I've been reading your thread Moorey, and you've got to really WANT this; don't let us down - it really has to be a ban on ALL gambling to succeed.... prove to us you really want to do this.

Diets suck bavalarrrrrrrrr 3 days of eating 1400 calories even cat food looks appealing.
My weekly fry up on a sandwich is 2000 perhaps I'll go without the sauce?

Sorry Mixer and all - got to come clean as the guilt is eating away at me. I fell badly over the past few days with the amount of sport around me and lazy days. I thought about not saying anything and just fading away but that would be a coward's approach. I am a coward, just not that type of coward. Don't really want to talk much about it now. Just went on chat tonight and listened really. I can't seem to move forward from this addicition. Always a couple of steps forward and then loads more back. Got to do better for 2017 as it can't go on. Really sorry for letting everyone down... it has become an-all-to-common theme for me in recovery.
