I've still got a long road I no but I can honestly say I don't intend on gambling again!i said to myself it's either 'life' or 'gambling' an I'm definitely choosing life!! An I've read back through your post an u said about telling your family and friends close to u,I would definitely advise u to do this as soon as possible because it helped me no end!it took a lot off pressure off my shoulders, cause if I ever have a down day they are there to support me an get me through it!

So good luck fella on your new recovery an I no if any1 can make 100 days an a lot more you can thanks again

Hi Hope, thanks for your message and words of support mate.

I'm touched that it was my message that has helped to lead you on the road to recovery. I'm glad I could help you. That alone makes such a difference.

I'm 5 days gamble free and taking it one step at a time.

61 days is impressive stuff!!! You're well on your way. Life must start to be feeling good again!?

Keep it up mate. I'm hoping to always be 56 days behind 🙂

I echo your sentiment, Abstainer: Moorey is a good man. Great to be shoulder to shoulder with him as, day to day, we keep this gambling devil out of our lives. And, you're a good man too, Abstrainer. Wishing you continued day to day success. Strength in numbers - determination in numbers!

Hi Moorey, I know you don't want a kicking but you've been here nearly a year now & when Bal asked you what you were going to do differently, aside from closing your account you said you would be telling someone 'over the next couple of days'! There's a reason why you have only ever managed 34 days & as you rightly point out, it's not financial! I don't want to pick holes in everything you have written but it was the FOBT that bought you back here so regardless of whether they bother you or not @ the moment, what harm would excluding do? You may well have had some self control shortly after your last slip but why do you even have access to that amount of money? Recovery isn't going to come looking for you, you have to want it & work @ it! Don't keep making excuses & putting off measures to help you...Those Saturday's are not coming back & unless you get a grip of this, visions of moving money around won't involve savings.

It's great that you are able to support & help others, time to help yourself - ODAAT

It's about timing at the moment ODDAT....

Now is not a great time to drop any kind of bombshell onto my family. We're all having to deal with a lot of difficulty at the moment and I feel that it would be selfish of me to add further to all the problems.

I take everything on board that what you and others have to say. I totally agree with it.

When the time is right, I will do so.

What I will do, perhaps tomorrow, is to self exclude from all bookies in my area. That is something that I can do right now.

I feel more determined than ever to succeed. Maybe I was naive and inexperienced in the past, and didn't really want to quit. Maybe I wasn't ready to.

But now feels different. I've not hit "rock bottom" as others would say and I'm scared to if I'm honest. I want to avoid that at all costs and not create any sort of a debt for myself.

So in time, I will put more and more blocks in place whilst I'm accumulating gamble free days.

I want that magical 100 days (and beyond). That is a milestone that I'm chasing hard!

Thanks for your input ODAAT.

I know you've got my back.

Make sure you do the multi self exclude easiest call I made and best in my recovery so far cause I don't have anywhere to turn to on days of boredom

Hi Christer, what triggered your relapse? I see you posted in the early hours of the morning.

What blocks do you currently have in place?

Get back in the saddle mate and try again. Get yourself in Mixer's challenge and work your way to 'Guru' status. We're a very friendly and supportive group. You can do this!
