Well another weekend gamble free and in the last few weeks I have really seen an improvement. I no longer stress about gambling and I just get on with my life. To be fair I never new how great my life was until I stopped. Now I look at it and wow I am happy. I mean not long before another payday still got lot's of money in the bank and I am liking it ticking up... Don't actually want to spend my hard earned. Especially not on gambling. Some of the best things in life are actually free and spending time with friends and family costs nothing but it so self satisfying. Anyway today I wont gamble but I will wear my smile as you should never go out without one 🙂

As the days tumble past one day at a time my thoughts for gambling a drifting away in my rear view mirror. Ever so cautious in case it dazzles me with it's bright lights once again but this time I have my relevant blocks in place. Loving my new life and walking away from gambling is the best achievement of my life to date. I have done some pretty incredible things to played football at a few Premiership football grounds etc but nothing compares to this as an achievement. The improvements in my life are clear for all to see. So for today I won't gamble. I will enjoy today once more and wear a big smile. Stay strong everybody and good luck on your recovery remaining cautious always. 🙂

Hello old friend,

100 days - thats wonderful.

Everything is still going well for me - Im learning everyday little things about life I had forgotten. Still get the odd tough day but once your eyes are opened to how good life can be - you want to keep that.

Keep smiling, keep shining

Bright Eyes X

Wow, getting to 100 days! I never thought it possible. I am pleased, proud and sad all at the same time. Pleased that you can, at last, live normally, proud that you have had the strength to overcome such a barrier to life. And sad - sad because there are 10 years that you can never get back, sad because I didn't have a clue and sad because you now have to work hard to pay off all the debt you accrued before you can truly be free. But throughout all that there is hope and an ever growing light at the end of the tunnel. You are progressing towards it and the end will be worth this tough time. Well done and keep going. Every day I am glad that you do not have that weight around your neck - it has made you a better person. xx

Well done on 100 days , it has flown by!!

I don't post as often as I used to on your diary as you took all the advice from folks on here in the early days, sifted thru what you thought would be your best approach to stopping. You applied it and more importantly you are maintaining it. Your mum has said on here that you are a noticeably better person for it as well. She also said she is sad for you about the debts you have accrued, in a way they are there as a reminder and something else you can work at and work down quickly. Don't let the debt stand in the way of your progress onto being a better person in a better place in life. They will take care of themselve, use the payments and dwindling debt as a further motivation.

cheers

and well done.

Well done and smiling helps keeps the wrinkles at bay!!! yes like you say it flies by and the day at a time approach really does work.

As long as we remind ourselves every day that we are in deed better people when we dont gamble then we can continue to beat this. Luv Min

Hello diary, well I have not posted for a while but this diary is never far from my thoughts. One of my thoughts is of how many people have lapsed. For me I believe hat when you know you want to stop it is at this point that you can. Not that you have to stop because u have no money or nowhere to run n hide, but when you actually want to you can beat this. Use all the advice and help on here, support from friends and family and tailor make your recovery programe so it suits you and look forward to a wonderful life without gambling one day at a time and enjoy everyday for the whole of it one day at a time. For today I won't gamble but I will keep smiling.
