The news and morning t.v is full of racing. Never been interested but I'm even considering putting a bet on. If I did it would be a small each way bet but it's absolutely rediculous. I don't gamble anymore.

I really do feel for you guys who are into the racing. You will have to summon up every ounce of strength in order to abstain. I am thinking of you.

I have turned the t.v off and told P not to buy me a newspaper. I don't want any triggers.

" If I did it would be a small each way bet "

Jas...DONT!!! Please, please do not be tempted or allow yourself to be fooled by the media or the ridiculous & at times manic posts that have been flying around the site over the last week.

In all cases, it is the addiction that comes shinning through in their posts. Slowly chipping away... until they convince themselves that 'its just a one off' or that after x time away they are now in a better place to make these 'decisions'.... I guarantee you it is nothing but the addiction working its way to the forefront.

Haven't the partners been through enough?

Havent all of you gamblers been through enough?

You have come too far Jas.... Urges & feelings pass, you have learnt that... Let them pass and continue onwards & upwards with your life.

Jackie x

You have come too far Jas

Thanks Jackie and Winning 🙂

Hey Jackie I needed that bloody good shake. I don't do gambling anymore, what the hell was I thinking. Shallow Jas 🙁

This addiction is just waiting for any opportunity to consume me again. For God's sake Jas, you've screwed your life up big time and have put in so much energy and effort into recovery and yet you still allow gambling thoughts to get through.

If I had decided to have a gamble I would probably have spent about 20 quid. Doesn't sound a lot when you say it fast..but you know something that 20 quid would spiral as it always used to...that hasn't changed.

I love my family too much to f*** it all up again. Just when you think it can't get any worse...it actually can...I must remember that.

I can never be trusted again to gamble. There is no middle ground.

It's my curry night tonight and my family are coming round. I am dead excited. My sister rang and usually if I was doing something like this I would be full of anxiety and panic and I have been known to cancel stuff at the last minute. Choosing to immerse myself in solitary online gambling. That is no more. I am really up for tonight.

My head and heart are so much lighter and I actually do feel happy.

Got the last bit of cooking to do and then it's all go. Come Dine with Jas!

I was in town yesterday. I was updating my savings passbook at the building society...yes, you heard it right savings! There was a member on here named Alan when I first found the site. He inspired me to start a small savings plan...it's been nearly a year and I haven't touched any of it. If you are reading this Alan, thank you.

Enjoy your weekends everyone.

Jas xx

Hey Jasmine.. great stuff on the savings! I went for years without savings.. just living pay day to pay day.. always full of anxiety in case i lost my job. Now like you I have savings.. not alot.. but enough so that if I lost my job I wouldnt have an immediate panic about how to pay rent/bills etc. I also keep ahead on rent/bills which feels a bit like savings sometimes (just without the interest or being able to wthdraw it lol). Savings and being ahead on bills etc brings me a sense of safety amd comfort especially living on my own.

Have a lovely curry night.. am sure you will.. S.A 🙂

Hi Jas

Hope you enjoy your family gathering and manage to cook everything ok and not burn the house down, if you do of course there is the old traditional takeway option!

Dont worry about me I am sticking to my plan and having gotten through this week safe I'm sure I can stay on track.

I'm not very good at this cockney rhyming stuff but I'm not giving up. Is Apples and Pears = Bus Fares?

Good guess from the captain but If i was him i would cheat and buy a book. . Best wishes. . wp

Amazing evening that I wanted to go on and on and on. I didn't think of gambling at all.

It's my birthday next Tuesday and everyone gave me cash as a pressie. It means a lot to me. I feel so grateful. I love birthdays.

It's taken nearly a full year to get me here. Feel rather emotional actually.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me.

Jas x
