Just want to report that I was stood in the queue in the local shop and the three people in front of me each bought scratchcards. In previous months I would have treated myself to one too (usually a £2 or £3 one) as it's payday but today I thought to myself - no I am not going to..
Okay £2 or £3 isn't going to break the bank but I recognise it as gambling with the potential that I would buy more and more hoping to win. So I'm pleased to say that I walked away with my few bits of shopping and no scratchcard.

Good check in again this weekend. Seems as though there is a little confusion with the 2 threads running simultaneously. This one is for those who signed up to remain bet free for the whole of 2013. There is another thread running which takes us through March. I think some may be signed up to that but checked in here. Anyway, not really a problem as long as we are all bet free, just worth checking as I don't want people thinking they have been removed from the list when they have just checked into the wrong thread.
