This is the 3rd time I have started an account/diary on here.I want to have a completely gamble free 2014, such a cliche to start on New Years day I know but something feels different this time and I feel I now have the strength to go all the way and beat this ridiculous addiction.I am 24 years old and have been online gambling, mostly slots for 3 years. My pay to last me this month is already just about gone and I have about a weeks worth of money to live off with 4 weeks until payday, yep my silly addiction is now out of control and completely getting the better of me.Time to turn things around.Wish me luck.....

Welcome back, Astra and Happy New Year. I feel the same as you... that somehow it feels different this time. I too have gambled my pay away and have a pittance to live on until the end of the month. Thankfully, I have some food frozen and a few cans in my cupboards which will hopefully see me through the month. We can do this!

Very true tono, it isn't about luck, my persistance will see me through!!Carla we can do this, we can support each other and do it this time, lets not waste anymore well earned money!! 🙂 i emptied my bank account today so i have the last of my cash on me, can't play online with no money so it seemed a good idea, it feels good to have done that 🙂 day 1 has been fine for me but i think end of the month/payday will be more difficult.

Day 2- I'm off work to use up some lieu time, enjoying the break but feeling bored.Would usually be heading for an online game although I have emptied my bank account so there is no way I can.I don't even want to, as I say, it's purely boredom. Has anyone any tips/other hobbies they started to keep them occupied?I'm thinking more like something I can do while I am in the house?Obviously something that doesn't cost a great amount of money either, I am putting money saved towards paying off debts accrued by this addiction.

Well, day 3 and still no gamble 🙂 I'm guessing this horrendous back pain has something to do with me being distracted, early night and painkillers for me.I hope to catch up on all your diaries in next few days, I am busy with work too which is good for me at the minute.

Keep up the good work astra,

You said a couple of posts ago about hobbies/interests, which is a very good idea to pass the time.

Personally I've been doing a lot of reading and watching films/TV shows... what kind of stuff are you into?

Keep up the good work, you can beat this, keep busy, I find getting outside helps going for a long walk with the dog or a run, although this is difficult if the weather is really bad. Also, reading watching films, even tried suduko, Stay strong. S x

I haven't managed an update for a while, but here I am, day 7.ONE WHOLE WEEK WITHOUT A GAMBLE.Im so pleased I have got this far but it has been hard.Yesterday I had an early finish from work where I would usually come home and have a few hours on the online slots, instead I made a lovely healthy tea and it felt good.Usually it would have been a pot noodle or something like that in front of the screen!! Obviously I am still having daily urges,im getting through them by remembering how my life was before I had a problem.I could afford meals out and more socialising with my friends who I seem to have neglected slightly with this problem taking it's grip.Life was good before gambling.
