Hi,

I have GameStop in place but I find myself playing on non licenced, non GameStop sites. Does anyone know how I can block these? I have blocks on my bank cards for gambling but these transactions still go through. It’s my own fault for ‘finding a way to get around it’ but I wondered if anyone knows how to block these as when you ask for a ban on the site it only gives you a short ban then allows you to play again. Also, if you ask customer support to unblock you, they do it immediately. Hence, not regulated!! Any help would be appreciated.
thank you

hi ,  if you install GAMBAN it will also block sites that you can still access through GAMSTOP.

This is what I did and have checked a few and completely blocks access.

Best of luck.

I used to gamble with a crypto casino that does this very thing. I lost tens of thousands over a few years with them and after a big loss I would self exclude for 5 years only for them to send me an email saying if you change your mind contact us. Its disgusting but as they are not regulated they can get away with it.

Gamstop is the best for UK regulated sites, but i agree there needs to be something for the non-Gamstop sites. GAMBAN mentioned above seems the way to go, I will have a look into it and may do this myself.

Good luck

Gamban is the best option, but make sure you install it on every device (phones, old phones, tablets, laptops etc), don't leave any door open to get back into gambling.

Thanks everyone. I have BetBlocker but it doesn’t seem to block these type of sites. I’ll try Gamban as recommended. Thanks again and hopefully we can be free of this awful addiction!

Hi Amy I put Gamban on my laptop today and finally realised I can’t gamble on anything now - I had it on my phone a few days ago but now I’m like ok that’s it 🙂 did you download it? I think you were on the chat last night?

Hi Chan,

Yes I was in the chat last night. I haven’t downloaded gamban yet as I’ve been at work til late but I will do it as soon as I have chance. I’ve felt more positive today about not gambling. Hope you are doing ok?

Hey Amy! Good to hear from you! I got my 1-2-1 support booked for next week with Gam care and looking forward to it! I was at work today rather than working from home and that made me feel a lot better 🙂 how are you doing today? Did you get round to download it? 🙂

Hi Chan, I am just looking into gamban now. I will do it through gamCare as they offer it for free which is a great incentive. I have abstained for a few days now and feel good. I get paid on Friday but have blocks in place so hopefully no temptation!! Hope you’re ok and doing well. Good to chat tonight in the chat room. It helps knowing that people get this.

speak soon

Hey Amy! Yes, good chat last night for sure! We’ve all got this! Yes, I got the free version too which was great! As soon as I put it on my laptop that was a game changer for me! I am a couple of days too and finding it tricky but everytime I do I log on here and answer a post or read a post and it just keeps me occupied and then the urge leaves! I’m also trying to keep super busy with work etc and starting a new side hustle with an old contractor! How are you today?

I need help with this as well. I did gamban and gamStop but I worked out how to get around it so I feel I have nothing that can help me. Will power isn’t working. I also have ADHD and life is one big addiction. I need help. I hate this feeling of dread and shame and I have zero restraint. How do you train your brain to listen to the good  side?

I am in the exact position as you are. So today I installed the GAMSTOP app on my phone where I do play and ALL IS BLOCKED... JOB DONE

I was in exactly the same position a few months ago. At the beginning I only had GAMSTOP in place and the gambling block on my bank card, but I still managed to find non-GamStop sites and deposit on them. It felt like every time I tried to close one door, another one opened. What actually helped me was adding another layer of blocks. I installed GamBan on all my devices (phone and laptop), but I also changed my DNS settings to use CleanBrowsing Family Filter. Basically this works at the network level and blocks access to gambling domains before the site even loads, so if you try to open many casino sites they simply won’t resolve or load at all.
