Thanks a lot Raj. When you say it's been a hard year do you mean temptations and urges keep coming for you? Or financial pressure? Would be good to get some of your perspective so I know what I'll be faced with over the coming months. 7 days in... Feeling resilient but also pretty low at times, especially when dwelling on what went wrong.

Hi Signalman, I’ve got no temptations at all. Just no urges at all. It’s stopped last year when I lost big time. I read the Alan Carr book which was the best thing I did. Mainly family and emotional stress..I’m in debt but no addictions and also stopped drinking. When my friend died then it placed everything in perspective. Gambling is a waste of time etc. Start getting into hobbies..I am in exercising though still not fit..-:( but all is good.

That's great Raj. Thanks for getting back with some perspective and truly sorry to hear about your friend. Youve done so well... Clearly a strong character.

Would love to get that book but can't afford luxuries for a while :o( maybe I'll see what my local library is saying... :o)

Keep going mate

Hi Raj

I have a new mantra, monies lost to gambling is purely brought entertainment. This helps, has you are thousands in the hole like most us on here, me included and you won’t get tempted to chase your losses as the money is gone, spent on entertainment - Just the same as it’s gone when bowling, cinema, laser shooting etc.

Good luck, I am 100% positive you can beat this.

Shaun

Hi Guys..updates..been a long time. I’m glad to say that I’m still GF even in theses difficult times. I’m busy working so got no time to think about gambling. I’ve still got debt though mainly due to house renovations but no more debt due to gambling.

Stay safe guys.
