OK ,Really , Wow ! I don't know if I should tug my forlock or just thank you for gracious presence on the forum , I got the impression you different from the average CG on here the other night , so thanks for clearing that up for me , Whew ! I'll just have to make sure I'm on the bog standard recovering CG page of the forum instead of Club class forum . :))

Apologies LC for hijacking your thread again , off to earn a morsel now !!

HI Loose canon gambling is a funny old thing... I can buy a lottery ticket or buy a raffle ticket or a scratch card and it would be a 1 off id win £20 may buy another line and walk away with the 18.... I see a fruit machine or FOBT and i turn into a maniac pumping money into it win £500 and go somewhere else loose £800. I think what you have to look at is that your winning cash on the easy bets and then the dark nutcase side comes out and you have lost control as your betting on thing for the sake of it . This is the compulsive side. compulsiveness doesnt neccasary make you take out payday loans or steal it will make you do thinks which really not logical like bet on things that dont make sense just for risk. Sounds like you know you have an issue there somewhat. You should think about maybe seeing a counciler and having a chat about it learn a bit more it really helped me! You might find this helps you. Good Luck mate!

I used to tell people i was a professional gambler when they'd talk to me when i was on the fruit machines. In reality i was on jobseekers allowance, had an empty flat & barely ever paid rent. I only read through the first few lines of your post as if you really believe you're a good gambler then you're not ready to stop.

Fatuesque if ur comparing myself to urself then dont bother i dont lie or hide my betting activity to anybody and in certainly not walking around sayin im pro gambler when in reality im playing a game of random chance theres a massive difference between u and i as A) im not lying and B i start in an area where u can at least take an educated guess like samson has pointed out earlier there is alot of one size fits all mentality within these forums i dont steal ,borrow or not pay the bills in order to gamble im not a drinkin i ave an alcholic drink once every 3-4 months and i dont smoke i come on here purely and simply to gain some advice on my own situation which to put into perspective is if had fifty quid its a betting bank if turn it into 700 i can lose it without battin an eyelid or kicking the dog or shouting at the kids and the wife but there is something inside of me which just says that situation is just not right

hi samson i have now read all ur posts from today and thanks for them i think me and u are one and the same people capabale of the sublime to the riddiculos i think alot of people on here think we r trying to dodge a bullet when al, we have rally been is honest in the way in which we chose to game/trade im happy with 99 percent of what i do its the 1 percent that lets me down and boy does it let u down im starting to turn the gears inside my head and think that even tho its its just that one percent that lets us down the fact it does we must be compulsive addicted gamblers who are fortunate in the sense that we have a release valve thats stops us blowing the bill money but not enough control to take control if it makes sense i feel bad for having to come on here but better for coming on here as i have a problem but i have read alot of diaries over the last ten days and im happy to say its not as deep that some poor people r in their is a very inspiring diary i forget his name may be dave he has made a year dropped off the wagon once or twice but repaid half his debt fair play to that man

I have read through your posts but I don't really understand what you want; you do not feel that you have an addiction problem; you are a controlled and well informed gambler; you are a successful gambler; often when you are up you can't seem to stop and make irrational bets which lose you your profit. Do you want to stop gambling or do you want to control it? If it is the latter then I'm not sure there are many on here who can help with that because, as addicts/compulsive gamblers we are here because we could not control ourselves and, because of this gambling is no longer an option.

Everyone one here has a differernt story to tell of how they became the way they did, and no matter how we got there it is not a competition; no-one on here is any better than anyone else. Some people have lost their way and through this have lost homes, relationship, jobs; others have lost a few months wages and felt the same devestation. We are all here because we no longer wish to live our lives in the destructive ways of our past and we come here for support and advice and to offer this back when we feel confident enough to do so.

Well done on day one and I hope you get the answers you are looking for.

Hi again LC and I'm good thanks , just read your post and I don't think it's about" If you don't have gambling related problems there not going to understand you" . I think you do have your own set of problems , all gambling related except that you don't have the debt that normally would follow it around , you came here because in your words " Something doesn't feel quite right " but then you almost play it down by saying you have no debt or payday loans ect , almost like your trying to deflect the underlying problem that you do have . You are a CG and of that I'm pretty sure as you have no control after a certain point and will blow any winnings without a second thought and that really shouldn't happen when your in control . I think the question is , do you want a break from gambling , do you want to gain control of your gambling or do you really just want to stop for good ? . If it's the last then I think your in the right place but any of the former two are prob better dealt with by yourself .

I'm quite comfortable in my own skin but I knew I couldn't control my addiction anymore but until I accepted what I was I could only ever be in denial , I don't honestly believe your ready to accept that you have a real problem just yet , I don't mean that in a bad way but until you stop trying to make it all sound better than it is , you'll struggle to find what your looking for .

I'm sounding really harsh and as though I don't care but in reality I do care , I'm just not certain of the right way forward for you if I'm honest .

Could you see yourself never gambling again ?

I'll have to leave this for now my friend as I've still got a bit of work to finish up but I'll catch up if your around tommorow !

hi and thanks for all the replies (i think)its late and im off to bed deano there is a part of me that will never give up i spend as many hours watching live football and markets turning looking to learn something new without even having any money in an account im not betting im fascinated to see the markets turn inplay and make a calculation in my own head as to what the i think myself the correct price should be to the implied chance of the event unfolding when a goal gets scored most people make some sort of comment like good goal bad goalkeeping or offside where as my head says first goal thirty mins in the over 2.5 gls market should be around ths price so heres a question for everybody who got involved today if for the next 6 weeks if im still do what i have done for a number of years without the influx of money changing hands no bets no money involved exactly what is it im addicted to and is this a problem if still want to watch the game and markets turn without getting involved in them or have i gotta start watching eastenders as well...................thanks and goodnight
