yes it’s only been 6 days but it’s nice to have spare cash for once and get out and about again and do things that needed doing in the house, also my sleep has improved not worrying about the lack of money. A long way to go but very positive and happy to feel like I do. Keep it up all you fellow folk on a new path.

Hi Gooner66,

Well done for starting a diary, and thank you for sharing your progress here.

It is good to read that you are feeling positive and happy, with better sleep, less stress, and more money and time, to do the things you want to do.

Keep up the good work,

Take care,

Adam.

Hi all, I am new here, signed up today after (Again...) spending all my money online. I just came across that Gamban license thing. I am very interested, my only concern is "being able to" .. work around it? So basically as long as I install it properly on all of my devices, online casinos will become not accessible, correct? Thanks for any advice regarding that tool, because I am extremely exhausted by my addiction right now.

Hello therisingphoenix,

It sounds like you have joined this thread as you are at a similar point in recovery building as the original poster. Gambling  can be all consuming, hopefully by accessing the forum you have recognised that you are not alone on the recovery path an that it is common to stop and start over at various points.

If you would like specific advice regarding blocks and self exclusions I would encourage you to give the helpline a call or message. The helpline is open 24/7. The advisers will be able to answer any of questions and provide reassurance as will the GamCare online community.

Warm regards,

Helen

@ylmfocxnb7 Great stuff.  Well done and make sure that you keep appreciating the peace of mind that not gambling gives you.  Keep us all posted on how you are doing over the coming days and weeks.  Recovery can be a rocky journey full of ups and downs.

@us3j85z4kl  Gamban is an excellent tool.  It has really helped me over the past months.  In answer to your question about 'being able to work around it'...  It has been much improved and this is no easy task.  However lets be honest, if anyone really sets their heart on it they will find a way to gamble in one way or another.

It is about putting layers of protection inbetween you and the gambling.  Cut your access to money, install Gamban, self exclude, go deep about what triggers your gambling and be as open as you feel you can with those around you.  There is no magic bullet to sort a gambling problem but there are tools to help and Gamban is an excellent one.
