As the title suggests 6 months ago I was paying more than £900 a month to creditors. I hope that by being open and honest and breaking down where all the debt repayments were going it motivates you to keep going on your own journey. Whilst I still have a way to go I now have money left over at the end of the month to treat family members and friends to lunch, purchase birthday presents without worrying about the cost and treating myself to the odd thing here and there. I can say that life is 100% better not gambling. It’s incredible in retrospect thinking how much I was willing to put on the line. I’m making this post in the hope that others can be motivated by it and to serve as a personal reminder of where I have come from.

Then: £912

- Pay Day Loan 1: £150

- Pay Day Loan 2: £170

- Pay Day Loan 3: £70

- Pay Day Loan 4: £120

- Repayment Plan 1: £60

- Repayment Plan 2: £160

- Repayment Plan 3: £50

- Repayment Plan 4: £52

- Credit Card Repayment: £80

Now: £342

- Repayment Plan 2: £160

- Repayment Plan 3: £50

- Repayment Plan 4: £52

- Credit Card Repayment: £80

As you can see I am still paying the price however the reason my monthly payments have reduced is because I have not closed my eyes. Instead I opened them up to the reality I was creating for myself. I know that everyone’s situation is different but I essentially decided that I needed to work every extra shift and hour that was sent to me. I was sick of being held handcuffed to this addiction. You too can and will do the same but it has to stop today. There is no winning until you abstain entirely.

I love this post mate. I'm 7 months into paying off a huge debt due to gambling and I aim to be debt free next month. You've inspired me to steal your idea for my diary once I'm debt free to show how much money people can really have in their pockets if they quit gambling (I'll credit you!). The reductions you've made are amazing. Imagine how much better off your life will be when you've cleared the rest. Amazing stuff!!

Stay strong 👍
