Day 62 of my new life just about completed. Was hoping to catch some of the footy today but had a hellish day at work and just finished a gruelling 12 hour shift. If i can stay awake will try and catch the highlights. Even though ive had a tough day it has been made a 100 times easier because i am a non gambler now and do not have that extra worry hanging over me 24/7.

I have been living my new life for 9 weeks and i must admit that this new life is so much more enjoyable than the last one. I have more of everything. Time, happiness, contentment, money, satisfaction, patience, quality time, understanding. Why do i have more of all these because i have chosen to make the decision to say no to gambling and will continue to say no because gambling is a horrible pasttime that robs us of everything. Why would i want to or need to or miss such a horrible thing in my life.Even Mondays arent too bad in this new life lol

That's a great post Greggsboy, another thing you've gained fella is wisdom...they say we live and learn, well we've lived and learnt that we can never go back to that gambling nonsense..it's so true we didn't realise that gambling was taking so much from our life...have a great evening mate...onwards and upwards...Ginger

64 days into my life so i thought i would write a little song to celebrate.

When I get older losing my hair
Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings, bottle of wine?
If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?

You'll be older too
And if you say the word
I could stay with you

I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride
Doing the garden, digging the weeds
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?

Every summer we can rent a cottage in the Isle of Wight
If it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck & Dave

Send me a postcard, drop me a line
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?
Ho!

If only i could get someone to sing that i think i may have a hit in my hands.

Day off work today. Rather than apend gambling i am going to walk along to fishmongers and get some fresh mussels for tonights Tea. Steam them in white wine and cream and serve with crusty bread. Washed down with a few corona. 67 days into my new life and i feel really great.

68 days into my new life. A couple of issues over the last 24 hours which would normally have made me want to gamble. But i now understand that gambling would not make things better only worse. Also starting to realise that these situations arise whether you are gambling or not and it is up to me to make that decision not to gamble. Going to spend time with family today and go and visit my parents. I know i will not be gambling and i know i do not want to gamble because it brings me no enjoyment. I get more enjoyment out of telling someone im 68 days free of gambling than i would by feeding a machine.

Great post Gregg, and 68 days, be very proud, and keep doing what you are doing, because as you say everyday problems happen whether we gamble or not, it just that gambling makes them a 1000 times a 1000 worse lol.

Keep strong and keep winning

on day 69 of this busy new life. Gambling will not darken this door today or in the future. Days are just flying by. Light nights are here so just finished work Then went for a run with the youngest beside me on her bike while the sweet potatoes baked in the oven to accomany a couple of rump steaks. Enjoy this opportunity we have been given folks and grab it with both hands.

Well 10 weeks today and it has flown in. No celebrations today that will be done at 80 and a 100. Still really happy in completing 10 weeks and even more happier to say i am gamble free in 2015. Wont be taking any interest in Cheltenham as i find horse racing a total boring sport without the gambling. I liken it to f1 racing which is another sport that bores me. Off to make dinner and then settle down and watch Arsenal and Man U. P.s Sorry if i have offended any f1 fans.
