Hey Gregg,

You old romantic eh!! Best Valentines pressie for your wife will be a gamble-free Gregg for sure.

Well done on 45 days (my age as well by the way!) my friend, ticking along nicely and no doubt using your football analogy theme, you will get through the next 45 by "parking the bus" infront of all gambling temptations..

John White's book was written by his son with help from a lot of his family and ex-players and is an interesting read. He was only a wee baby when his dad was killed so tragically. I do indeed like the nostalgic side of Spurs and having grown up around that area, I get a feel for the book that names places I know, etc......

As for Collymores book. I must admit that it wasn't one that I was drawn to initially, as I too was never his biggest fan. The main reason for me reading it was to read about his well documented depression and famous bust-ups throughout his career. A complex character who has done well to banish his demons.

Am a couple of chapters into Kevin Twaddles book. Have to say that the forward by Paul Merson is enough to make you want to quit gambling eh...

Keep strong

Ade

Day 46 and feeling really positive. Stressful week at work and at home but have came through these tests and not thought about turning to gambling. I am going to relax tonight with a few beers and spending time with the family. The significance of the number 46 to me is it is the number of the bus that i used to get put on to go to my grans and she would be at the other end about 45 minutes away to meet me. Think i was about 8 or something. Shows you how the world has changed there is no way you would do that with a child now incase some nutter got hold of them. Also 46 years ago the Beatles gave thier last ever live performance on the rooftop of Apple.

Well up nice and early in this lovely morning. Going to go for a haircut and then have a lovely cooked family fry up. Later on it will only be me and my youngest so might make her favourite home made pizzas and will round it off buly going and getting some lovely ice cream. Well thats day 47 planned. I have been racking my brains to any significance of the number 47 in my life but do not think i have come across this number before so will just have to celebrate it as 47 days gambling free. Small fact about 47 is it is in all the star trek movies. Not being a trekkie myself i need to thank mr google for that fact.

Hi mate, thanks for the post on my diary. Nearly the half century for you too! Well done!

I like your idea of a gamcare fantasy footy, I'm currently second in my league so could be a close call if you're top in yours!

Keep up the good work!

James

Working today and it was a really busy shift. Home for just aftr one and prepared a nice roast chicken with all the trimmings washed down with an ice cold beer. Now thats what i call a productive day. 48 days today and the number 48 brings back memories of the movie 48 hours which if i remember correctly starred Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte. Maybe a sequel to called another 48 hours but dont remember much about that. Time to chill for the rest of the evening.

Well thats 7 weeks today and not been too bad at all. Had a couple of bad days but to be honest really feeling positive this time. I feel as though something has finally clicked and i just do not want to gamble anymore. Cannot believe how stupid i have been over the years but i suppose we are all on a journey and we make mistakes along the way but as long as we can learn from these and we become better people. Being gamble free gives you so many gifts and the fact of what we have went through makes you appreciate them even more. Time, patience, family, money, the list is endless and i am loving the feeling of satisfaction i get every time i complete a gamble free day. 49 is my number today and having a san francisco 49ers baseball cap back in the day springs to my mind. Also 49 years ago i think another country in the uk won the world cup. The reason i say think is i wasnt born and there never seems to be any mention of it at every world cup since then. Heres to the big 50 tomorrow

Well done on your half century mate. Raise that bat to the crowd and take a bow big man!

Now move forward hitting those steady singles and edge your way to a Century......

I'm just settling down for lunch with the kindle. About three-quarters of the way through Kevin Twaddles book.......

Keep strong mate

Well day 50 compete. Half way to Double zeros and 5% completed towards treble zeros. Really love zeros they make a number sound more important. Really proud of reaching the half century and would like to thank everyone on this site for all the support. I am going to keep writing in my diary every day because thats what works for me. Was looking back on last years 200 plus day run and that came to an end because i had started to slack on my personal diary but will not make that mistake twice. 50 is my inlaws house number so that is the relevance of todays number.
