fella the space we put between ourselves and the last punt is something to be very proud of.

For me each day the value of that time grows, it becomes more valuable because the investment brings an end game, a result, each day you make the choice not to wage your hard earnt you gift yourself so many things

No emotional mind f**k, no financial losses,no false pretense about how you love the buzz of the punt,no more lying to anyone about your dirty secret.

All this for making a choice that does not cost a bean.

Fella watch the value grow, most of all enjoy it.

Abstain and maintain

Morning diary, so day 31 is here and one month completed, to be honest i could not be happier. I feel this year and my required strength to remain gamble free will shape the rest of my life. Should i keep abstained then the future will certainly look brighter than it has for many a year.

Thank you all my fellow fighters, strength i gain from here is unmeasureable. Have a great day all, Dark Place

Hey D.P

Lovely to hear you are feeling so happy and positive. Abstinance brings so much and more in our recovery journey.

Keep going from strength to strength and increasing that gap from you last bet.

Take care.

Day 35 and Easter is almost upon us !

Friend asked me to put 500 on a horse yesterday at 11/4, inside information and it won. Really pleased ofr my friend as he had been struggling, not really sure it is healthy for my recovery because i was sorely tempted to back it myself. In the end i decided win or lose i do not want all the misery again of gambling.

Oh well back to emails and work ! Have a great day everyone and wonderful Easter weekend. Dark Place

Hi Dark Place - Just wanted to say that I am full of admiration for you in your journey from the darkness to the light of sanity and a gamble-free life. I've been reading your Diary from the beginning and was reminded of that Chumbawamba song: "I get knocked down but I get up again, You're never gonna keep me down.." You're an inspiration, and I think your ten-point plan of 16 March should be a 'sticky'!

Best wishes for your continued good life.

Joanna

I am so happy for your continued success and am really looking forward to your song. Happy Easter, Patrick! I'm heading off to my brother's place shortly. His wife is a phenomenal cook so I will, undoubtedly, eat far too much!
