Peter- I can’t help in terms of knowing what it feels like to experience what you are going through but as I lay awake as a wife of someone who has been going through similar (I’ve just discovered my husbands secret gambling addiction and debt, been together 20 years) I just wanted to send a message to offer support and say how amazing I think you are for being brave and taking accountability for your actions and wanting to get the help.

You can and will recover. I am 💯 certain of this. You need to reach out/ confide in those closest to you and take all the professional help you can get. My husband isn’t there yet but I wish he was. Posting on here everyday is a great idea. I am new here to this group but I have been blown away by everyone’s kindness and support.

Make 2025 count and make it the year you change your life for good. All the best!

Sorry to hear this Peter. Get the blocks in place. Get someone checking in to your finances so your accountable. Talk about your feelings to someone even if it's in here. Keep the addiction real in your mind and stay focused Peter. You got this 😁 one day at a time.

That's the problem. Many gambling addicts thinks that going cold turkey will heal you and youll just suddenly stop gambling. It doesn't work like this

Stop counting days and get some actual help.

Counting days does not stop addiction
