Hey Nic,

Very well done for starting counselling. For some people is enough to get over this problem by themselves, some people are not that fortunate with counselling, and have to wait for ages to get sessions booked....so we are really lucky Nic, take the most out of it. I was very scared at the start, because i lost so much confidence and self esteem during my gambling tines, i couldn't even look person in the eyes...

Counsellors are amazing people, they will listen, and try to lead you back on path. You will be fine i'm sure, it does help a lot in my recovery, as well as understanding deeper issues which lead me to develop this horrible habit. I do understand myself better now and start working on a lot of problems i used to try to avoid.

So best luck, you are really brave person and well done for moving forward and keep that determination going:-)

Thank you Sandra and dave.

Day 15.

No gamble thoughts and happy to reach week 2 not reached here in a while. So feeling good and positive.

Counselling went well, lots of emotions and discusses came up in week 1. I was very upset after but glad I went. Looking forward to week 2 but not sure when that will be. Talking to someone that I didn't know was a struggle and when I cried I'm front of him I was so embarrassed. It feels odd to cry

In front if a stranger.

Hope everyone else has enjoyed a week free from gambling

Have a good weekend guys

Nick xx

Hi Nick, congrats on 15 days of not gambling!!! I am sure you are proud, the time will fly by now. I am sure the counselling really helped, when you talk to a stranger you don't feel the need to hide anything. Have a great weekend, stay strong x

Hi Nicki,

I'm very pleased to hear, that counselling went well. It was very hard for me to open up too, but as more sessions you have as easier it gets, and it start making a lot of sense the way we use to deal with everything. Just do it and stay strong

As they say - shared problem is half problem!

Well done on another day gamble free

We will do it.....day at a time

Take care

Day 16

Mixed feeling today, had a lovely graduation party with the family last night. Tired today but was nice to celebrate something that I've achieved. When I realised I had passed I had mixed emotions but one of them wasn't pride. But now I do feel proud for someone like me to come away with a degree It's a big achievement one I didn't think I would ever do. So today I am going to feel proud if myself for once rather then dissappointed I have worked hard and I deserve it!!

Dropped my little boy with his dad today for 2 whole weeks. Going to miss him so much. He seemed a little sad today think he was a bit anxious about being away for so long. But it will do him good to spend some time with his dad. Just hope he doesn't let him down again.

The next two weeks I'm going to get a job if it kills me!!

Might take a nap now in this oddly quiet house

Nic xx
