Here I go again!

Day 1

This is a bloody nightmare, Im gambling on things that are beyond belief! Over the last month I have gambled on the following:

South Korean basketball, Swedish basketball, U18 Russian basketball, Russian Ice hockey, Turkish basketball and German handball!

What the f**k is wrong with me, Why am I throwing my money down the toilet? I know exactly 0 about these sports.

This really has got a real grip of me.

Its 6:49pm on the 5th of January and thats it I quit gambling. I have ripped up my debit and credit cards, I need support and this forum is the best around.

Wish me luck!

Day 2

Could not sleep very well last night, was very anxious thinking about my gambling losses. It haunts me how stupid I have been and the lies I have told.

Im going to take small steps at a time to try and overcome this horrible situation I am in because it does not fell good.

Sending you a bucketful of strength.
It doesn't feel good now but you have to take it a day at a time, you're quite right when you say small steps.
At the end of each gamble free day you will feel stronger and more able to cope.
If you're worried about debts, stepchange are very good to talk to. They give excellent free support and advice.
All good wishes x

Hey,

Just read your thread and I can confirm you certainly aren’t the only person to bet on complete rubbish.

I too would bet on the most random sports. Often it was because there was 2-3 hours before the next event involving a sport/league I had knowledge about was on.

The above statement confirms the compulsion if the gambling...and that it has nothing to do with winning any money, only the buzz of having the active bet.

I would also do the same if I woke up during the night, have a punt on the Peruvian second division or some other obscure thing. May have well woke the wife up and bet her £50 on heads snd tails.

Anyway, well done for being here, stick around and keep posting, even if you have nothing to say, remain accountable.

All the best and I’ll keep an eye out on your progress
