Morning Lulu

I'm gonna be honest, I don't know what I could advice. You are still very much in danger zone mentally and it's clear to see how the "games" attracts your mind. Could you try something else to distract you while awaiting for blocker to be placed on your device? Many different things can aid you when the storm hits the mindset.

Going for a walk ( I see you have lovely pal in your profile pic!), reading a book, maybe cooking something creative or crocheting! I never in million years thought I will try the same but o*g it actually works as you concentrating on something else and focusing on ANYTHING but flashing lights is massive help!

Only you know when enough is enough. Ask yourself these questions:. What gambling beings to your life? ....& what gambling takes out of your life?...i assume it's not a rocket science to weigh the two and see the impact it has on our lives.

Keep hanging on and posting! Rant, talk, share...se are here for you!

S&B xx

Thanks SJB yes I’m doing that taking my puppy dog out she’s loving the extra attention now. I’ve enrolled in a bookkeeping course too so have been distracting myself with that too. Yes I agree I’m still very much in the danger zone. Hopefully will get k9 today. 3days though! So happy with that. I can do this thanks SJB x

Hi Wilsey thank you means a lot. No real urges rest of the day been busy doing my course work sense of satisfaction finishing my first assignment is great, how much better than sat zombie like watching spinning reels and money in account going down until nothing. That’s what I’m thinking now so I’ll hold onto that thought as well as distraction. Feeling much less depressed and mood is levelling out now I’ve not got the highs then terrible lows always ending up really down. Not now it’s a natural mood now. Thank you everyone for posting and the support. Get K9 in a bit cos I know this strength will lapse and I’ll hit a weak spot but for now all good 🙂

Got a problem! Tried to set up K9 myself thinking I’ll just put in a random pass number on Settings/General and put restrictions to on but didn’t set it to stop gambling sites then came out of the settings and now cannot remember the pass number to go back in and set K9 to full restrictions! I’ve not got safari anymore but have K9 but still have full access! How can I retrieve my iOS settings/general/restrictions pass number? I haven’t a Clyde what it is. Thanks in advance

Put in a search to test K9 and still definitely have full access but self exclusions are working really well and I feel stronger than ever have before, I’m loving the nice even mood without all the awful lows you get when you lose all your money. Been studying my course and completed my first assignment. Done some work in narrow boat ready to put it up for sale end month so we can move back into house and closer to my son who needs me closer. That is getting me down he’s still using on top of the methadone but he’s got to do this, as much as I want to take it all away for him I can’t. 4 days gf

Hi Lulubobs,

I would recommend you look at some other makes of blocking software. Even if you have to pay for it. K9 is free but not necessarily the best option. Here are some we have tested and recommend: http://www.gamcare.org.uk/get-advice/what-can-you-do/blocking-software

All the best,

Eva

5 precious days gf. Boredom is also a trigger as well as escape. Felt urges this morning from boredom as well as had bad nightmare to try and forget thanks to ptsd but having 5 good days under my belt helps.

Thought a lot about gambling today not happy that’s because of boredom I think waiting for my husband to finish work on boat so I can clean up. Just thought about it a lot didn’t attempt to find a site (unlikely anyway) so that’s a step further than I’ve been. Normally I’d be scouring internet for a site I’m not self excluded from. Not good though having these thoughts, takes pleasure of day away. Bit fed up to be honest
