2 years GF today. I never thought I could achieve this after so many false starts. All I can say is, once you know you've stopped for good, you know. It takes 100% commitment and zero compromise.
Some of my gambling history, I don't regret, as there have been some good times and fun. However, the downward spirals of losing and not coping were the worst things - once consumed it is a terrible experience. The financial carnage is horrific and nothing I would ever put myself and my loved ones through again.
