Hi Diary

Thanks Stephen and W for your thoughts(and everyone else who has taken the time to read and/or write in here).

There isn't much to report.

The powers that be at work picked out 4 people in the office and gave them a higher payrise(5% instead of 2.8%) than the others in recognition of all the extra work that has been done by them.(all very hush hush as to not upset the balance) And I'm one of them. It feels great to find out that you are appreciated.

This past week has been 'normal'.

Had some gambling thoughts yesterday and l sent them packing, I'm stronger than the thoughts these days. I somehow always seem to get them when I get paid.

But it doesn't matter, the thoughts can't hurt me, only acting upon them can.

We are all getting excited about flying to Germany tomorrow night. It will be so good to see my family again. They have all been supportive over this past year and I can't wait to give them all a big hug and maybe bring some peace to them.

I pray for you all and hope you can all find that inner peace I am so very fortunate to experience at the moment.

God Bless

Charly

wow - what a long way you have come - and I love the fact you seem so happy and settled within yourself. I bet that means your family see the best of you, and they'll be delighted to meet up and share your experiences. Really wish you well on your trip away and am so happy that you have found the peace you deserve.

Hi Everyone

Hooray, tonight at17.50 the plane will take me 'home'

You all stay strong and positive and kick the urges when you get them.

Just for Today you and I are not going to give in to them.

They have no hold over us any longer.

Together we will succeed.

Have a good weekend and I will catch up some time on Tuesday.

God Bless

Charly

Hello ALl

I'm back. Thanks to those who have wished me well on my travels.

I had to try and find my diary first. There are a lot of new people on here, which is marvellous. I will try and read all the posts written while I was away and then reply.

We have had a brilliant time in Germany. all the things I planned for there have come true. Dad went for a walk with my sister on Monday(actually it was a stroll to the doctor so I didn't insist on going for another one) and he has a few check ups coming up, he's been told what he can and can't do and when and how to take his medicine. He's also been told he has to lose weight, which he doesn't seem to mind, but tryng to convince Mum to start cooking healthier is another matter. Everytime my sister or I made a suggestion, she'd pull a face and say- argh that it wouldn't taste right- and we then had to convince her to at least try.

I also managed to achieve my main goal of getting my brother and sister talking. They are going to get together for a coffee this week. They hugged for a long time on Sunday at my niece's confirmation, which brought happy tears to Mum's and my eyes.

All in all everything is well in my world.

Because I missed my Sunday G.A. meeting, I went to the Havant G.A. last night instead, which was good.

I'm feeling on top of the world and very much at peace with myself. I'm beginning to love 'me'. Now there's an admission. I've always hated myself. Am finally beginning to make progress. I thank G.A., this forum and my family and friends for where I am now. For without all the support I have received over the past (nearly) 11 months I wouldn't be here and I'm very greatful for that.

You all stay strong and safe.

I shall include you all in my prayers

God Bless

Charly

Hi charly

Sounds like you had a very memorable and fulfilling trip to Germany. It seems as if it has given you a lift in general, which is carrying you forward now you are back in the UK.

I'm glad you are making progress yourself, and finding peace. I think an important part of our recoveries is discovering what really makes us tick, what we are about, how we can improve as individuals, finding our strengths and being comfortable with the things we cannot change about ourselves. As you said you are making progress, which is great.

Take care....

Thank everyone for reading and/or posting on my diary. It makes me feel good to know that others care.

How am I feeling today?

Mixed feelings - a bit deflated, tired, fed up, happy because the sun is shining and I haven't gambled today. I have to find out about it later. I'm completely snowed under at work at the moment, but I when I get home I shall have my quite half hour and reflect on why I'm feeling all over the place at the moment. Plus I'm going to Havant G.A. tonight. I know I'll be ok.

God Bless

Charly
