A book I've loved in the past few months is ' Requiem for a dream ' by Hubert Selby jr a addict himself. Once you get over the ny slang a great book in describing the descent of addiction..

I quite enjoy Lynwood Bar clay as a newish thriller writer, but after 2/3 books his voice is the same.

There are some heaviest addiction books but not light.

I wish you well, the wall is normal, keep pushing on.

Sorry everyone not been on in a few days so not had time to update my diary but now completed 12 days without a bet ! Feeling really upbeat and even though I don't have much money just now I will be feeling a lot better at the end of the month when I get paid and it's not all gone within 2-3 through betting.

Hi folks just updating my diary again! So after 17 days I still haven't had a bet. Going out for dinner later on for Valentine's Day with the misses so looking forward to that and generally feeling happy knowing that i am spending my money on productive things rather than gambling it all away.

Day 20 and I'm half way through it ! Was round at my dads today watching some of the racing and it made me feel good seeing the amount of favourites loosing (favourite backer) and thinking that a while ago I would have been on most of them !

Well done on 24 days Craig. Your in a similar boat to me. Payday Friday, and that will be the first time I will have to really resist the urges. Best of luck fella

Barriers would work better than luck and/or will power, long term. Payday is notorious for a lethal combination of urge plus money. You might want to plan ahead as to how the triangle is to stay broken?

Over to you, wish you well,

CW

Don't treat payday any differently , just do what youv'e been doing for the last few weeks and it will be the first time in a while that you wake up on a weekend with money still in your account . Instead of handing it over to the gambling sites or bookies why not go and treat yourself for once , what better reward could there be ?.

Take care guys !
