Thanks for the supportive post Danny 🙂

Whatever works for now! Seems like a great deterant to me knowing u've still got your money in you pocket.

I have the maybe I could win a little to get myself slightly ahead but we know deep down it won't stop there and even if you did it would just put a confidence back in to the easy way to make money kind of thinking but it's what got us here in the first place!

Don't give in to these thoughts. Enjoy knowing you're winning already 🙂

That weird sensation of buying things! Love that, us gamblers usually only spend when we've had a win, even then we don't appreciate them.

The thought of winning £40 to buy a pair of jeans is something I'm all too familier with also. Seems so easy. £40 on an evens bet. Red/black Odds/even. But of course there is a higher chance you will lose than win and then it's £80 you need to win to get that prize! Even often when you do win you keep going as you think it's your lucky day.

At first I thought I'd miss gambling. If I'm honest I don't miss it one bit. I can remember holding my breath waiting for my number to drop in, or talking to myself at the FOBT. Walking away checking and double checking my pockets for any more gamble money and then having no money to get a taxi and having to walk a few miles home.

Sure there were times when I had lots of winnings, but I never even enjoyed them! The past 5 months gamble free with limited funds has been ten times better than the short bursts of riches I've had.

tearsofaclown you knocked the nail on the head if when you win its not enough and doesnt make you happy it just makes you want to go again. And the feeling when you win and treat ppl is great but the number of times u skip lunch you work home from work no bus fare or aint any cash to put petrol in your tank. And dont go out for a m8s birthday or say to your partner ill treat u next month for your birthday they certainly out wieght the few hand full of times im mr flush and even then im thinking will i make it back it time to nip bookies to win the cash back for that meal epic fail all my life

Mrhearn all of the above ring home with myself, especially not being able to afford the bus or public transport.

Today I am going to go shopping and get a haircut, the sensation to nip into the bookies is so strong, I enjoy a football bet and would only ever stake £2/£3 just to make the games interesting, however I would try pinch this from the fobt and end up hundreds down.

I want these feelings to surpass and I think time is going to be the only healer in this respect.

Keep making that right choice Danny, to abstain and maintain, it is the only way we do win in every way.

Well done on staying strong.
