well another big week, working late today and also on my 14th anniversary tomorrow , my 43rd bd weds , wife has another operation thurs so plenty of stresses and strains and likelihood of a few jars. but ready for it all. all the best john.

Hi John, sorry to hear your wife has to ensure another operation. It must be hard on you to see her suffer. So I think that you are extra brilliant for coping with all you have to and still fighting urges to gamble. Good on you Joy

thanks again joy and all posters, the thing with the wife is how can i pretend even to have any prob remotely to compare with hers ( which is of course my prob too ) . i and all of us know this gambling lark is destructive and painfull but to stand back and compare , well i dare not feel sorry for myself .all the best john.

PS: every now again, stand back and look at your situation from afar. I know you'd be proud of that person and so give yourself a pat on the back. Head up mate 🙂

Hi John,no-one knows the probs a stranger in the street is going through .. I think that is half the problem why we dont seek help sooner. You can hardly start a conversation with "Hi I have just spent all my money on gambling and now feel cr**. Oh by the way how are you?."

We keep it to ourselves and just end up out of control, hiding bills, getting deeper in debt, chasing our losses. It is only when we are near to rock bottom we realise we have to stand back and look at how destructive the habit is.

So I think everyone who has been brave enough to carry on posting on here despite other stuff that is happening in their lives, deserves a pat on the back.

well just dropped the wife at hospital, should be able to collect her later after i get kids home, got a bit of diy to do gambling last thing on my mind all the best john.

well wife safe and sound in bed , got more diy then a horrible days work , got sky sports news on to keep up with footy news (looks like my hammers made a couple of good signings ) every now and then a bit of racing news comes on , nice to see race fixing in the headlines!! that should spur me on , and the clips of racing not bothering me a bit. think the times i may struggle will be with beer involved so will be extra vigilant then but also wont be cocky or complacent i KNOW the tricks our minds play on us. all the best john.

Hi John, glad wife is okay, you must be relieved. Thank you for your support on my post. I have to admit I dont dread going to work as lucky it is only part time and the girls I work with are fun. So it must be hard for you if you dread going to your job.

But hopefully things will change for you in the future and you can take(like I want to) a different direction.

Am I reading it right(hammers) is that Westham? if I am wrong apologies as not a footie guru.

I took my hubby as a treat last year to WH hotel. I have to admit it was great looking over the grounds from the balcony at night.

And to top it all they won by 7 goals. so the hard core WH fans we met looked on him as some sort of lucky mascot as up till then they had been going downhill. Invited us into their private pub session, and really good night. Have to admit it makes buying presents easy!!as have given him the back room as a blokes pad, full of WH.

I am out to pics and a few drinks myself, so hope you have a good chill out to. Joy x

thanks joy shes doing well. and yes west ham chap me like your hubby and like him i had a room top to floor with old whu photos etc . but wifey decided she wanted her dining room back now ive got the hall way packed full of my treasures . keep your guard up joy all the best john.
