Hi John, glad you are chilling out otherwise I would have to start singing one of Barry's songs to you!!! (now that would send the stress levels higher!)

Hope everything not too bad at home. Keep your inner strength going. Support you all the way. cheers Joy x

Hi John, hope you and family are keeping well. Only another week and your be off to sunny Florida. I know its a heatwave here, but its different when your in another country isnt it.

Also it will be good to be away from the temptation of gambling, always helps I find.

I booked yesterday for me and two daughters to go to Cyprus. Really had hard time trying to find reasonable last minute hols. No real bargains around.

flying tonight, so have rushed home and packed. Getting excited.

Also had a few jittery thoughts today, so will be glad to be away in different environment to get over them. Hate having these little niggles in brain, as know life much better not gambling but sometimes hard to control them but will defo not act upon them.

Well Cyprus here I come.

Karoke watchers be prepared!!!!Joy

well.... hello all thanks4 posts kim and aj, yup hammers did great and yes the hols are done and dusted. a week b4 i went had pc probs still not sorted so im in a internet cafe. hope to have it fixed later today. the holiday went far better than i expected , driving around the sunshine state in a lovely 4x4 the wife and kids loved it and i enjoyed it ( although hard work ) it was a real life experience. tan not too impressive despite blistering heat as im not one to expose myself to too much sun, well not one to expose myself full stop!! the parks were impressive and the lazy times by the pool with much alcohol superb , at times lounging about in 90/100 degrres + while a storm rages pretty amazing !!will probably go back each year now as we bought the timeshare there a couple of years back (circumstances prevented us going till now ) but our place there is huge and most impressive. in my quiet times i must admit i did reminice about my days as a greyhound punter but not to the point of wanting to go and do it again its just a huge part of my adult life ive left behind i suppose like an ex partner ther will be times when you remember the good bits but i think its normal and healthy, any way still a clean (ish) living ex gambler will try to catch up with all your posts soon my fellow ex gambling friends all the best john.

Hi John, so glad you enjoyed it in the end, all that umming and uuring before you went. I love America and recommend it to anyone for a holiday.

I too cant go out in sun without shrivelling. took my fan with a built in water container and sprayed all day, was a godsend.

Hoping to go next year (cant this year, spent too much on gambling boohoohoo.)

Did you go to the Ponderosa? we ate there all week, pay for the meat and the rest is included. Used to smuggle the kids in....

Now your goal is for next year,so go for it. Joy x
