I really appreciate the answers to the questions Captain. Will reply later when i get more time.

Steve, I have to say that your post is one of the best posts that i have read on here in a long while. Thankyou for taking the time to share that on my diary. It sums up a hell of a lot for me.

Hi Ade,

I too thought that Steve's post was amazing. He really nailed it. I also look back often at that piece you posted a little while back about the stages. Both have really helped me get my head around some things. I dropped by on this fine day to wish you well and continued strength. No retreat baby -- no, surrender!! Not us, ever. Got your back. -joanxxx

Thanks for posting this, Ade. It was interesting yet depressing. Free gambling-simulation games for children are a recipe for disaster, grooming the next generation of addicts.

Ade

fella glad you put the thread up for that program, myself i was glad to see the issue get some main stream tv scheduling.

I wrote on my own diary that my hope is it helps future generations understand more about problem gambling.

As a country,we seem to be the last to regulate things, other nations around the world have already got a handle on the issue, the united kingdom has a great big carpet we kick things under!!

great to see it on the agenda.

keep up the good work my friend.

Duncs stepping forward never back .

Thanks for the supportive posts guys.

I have managed to avoid gambling today. I feel that I have a very positive outlook at the moment.

I have just spent the last hour making paper chains with my daughters for their upcoming school fete.

It's payday tomorrow and I am challenging myself to get through the next month without gambling any of it away.

I feel strong, and see no reason why this cannot be done.

I may not be posting as much as usual, mainly because I do not want to read too much about others gambling, etc...

Can have a negative effect at times, although I do admit to gambling too much lately and failing miserably at times to abstain.

I have to change something in my 'recovery', so I want to give this approach a chance.

Cheers all

Ade

Hi Ade

Good luck with your new approach. I read earlier about the use of a monthly calendar where you mark off each day you dont gamble positively with a tick and those you gamble with a cross. Maybe this would work for you...visibility that say even if you gamble 2 days, there are 29 'bright' days that month....

Day 3.

Feeling great and looking forward.

I can change.

Keeping strong and gambling not really coming into my thoughts.

No urges.

Keeping my head down, busy at work.

Just finished reading Simon Jordan (former Crystal Palace manager) Autobiography, entitled "Be careful what you wish for". Great read.

Time to get another book.....
