Hey Russ,

Hope the golf went well - teeing off at about 2 might have got you the best of the conditions. It was still a bit damp early on round my way.

Thanks for the post on my diary and keep fighting the fight. Like you, I prefer to battle this disease alone - its not everybody's perfect solution - BUT it is mine!

All the best

Hatch

Thanks for the posts over the last few days. I haven't posted as I've not had a great deal to say. I had my best mate and his wife over for lunch today (he lives an hour away so I only see him every month or so) We've always been gambling buddies' discussing odds etc. He asked me if I've done much on the gambling front. I said that I've not had the time, would rather spend my money on something else.....etc etc. He's never had a problem and enjoys it in a sensible controlled way. I wish I could have been like that, as you all know....unfortunately that's not the case. First day back at school for the little one after the summer holidays tomorrow....back to the old routine. Hi Russ,

Thanks for the post mate.

Things are not going great for me on the golfing front. I'm hitting my new irons great but my yardages are all over the place. Need to spend a bit of time on the range. Main problem is that i am putting like a 28 handicapper. Can't remember the last time i holed anything outside of 8 feet!

Things have not been going great on the gambling front either. I guess it really is time for me to admit defeat on that one.

Will be starting a new diary soon!

Hi Russ,

I've not got a SkyCaddie mate but i've played with people who have and i agree it is a handy tool. Maybe one for the xmas list!

Cheers for your support pal.

Thanks theboy24 and curly. I've had chat with the mrs and we've decided that I'm going to start to become less dependent on the forum. It's given me so much and strength and has actually changed me into a more positive, relaxed person. I will continue to post but just not as much as I have done in the past. It's like slowly reducing my medicine.

I'm keen to see who will be the person to make the 1000 post on winning posts diary!!! Surely it should be the man himself. We will see!

What a cracking read this diary is, how the f**k you mananged to not gamble in vegas I'll never know.

One thing that made me laugh is that they say a CG is delusional and when you mentioned before the world cup that you thought England had a great chance it hit the nail on the head. You would of backed England in each match and lost a lot.

Keep it going, I always found golf great therapy when I was gambling, I didnt think about gambing when I was playing.

Keep it up and take care.

Hi Russ, Thanks very much for checking in, still reguarly catching up on the diarys, yet having break on my diary. Getting busy with work, treading water at mo, either nights/days, hence pretty much away with the fairys!

Absolutely magnificent the support you continue giving and sending over a virtual high five. Take care to you and all others fighting this!

Russ,

Thanks for your post yesterday. I have read it many times and it helps. This gambling recovery is really tough going. I hope that you are well and that you enjoy continued success.

There's a few golfers on this thread. I play a fair bit myself. A Gamcare golf challenge would be fun. I wonder whether it would help or hinder on those itchy 6 footers.

Thanks to everybody for their posts. Much appreciated. I've been reading a little less (believe it or not!). Brian pointed out how many golfers there are on gamcare....are the two related?! The correlation between compulsive gambling and golfers is a dissertation waiting to happen! As for golf, I have my semi final of the four ball this evening. One win away from finals day next Sunday. Can the new positive Russ win through? Find out later! Have a good day all. Russ
