Cheers for the post Russ old boy.

In answer to your question about how i managed to play golf after a skinful the answer is very badly! It was a texas scramble though so thankfully my partner managed to hold things together. I've got a trip to Scotland coming up in March so i will try to find a bit of form before then.

You are right about the blues. We seem to be finding a bit of form in the absence of Cahill. It's a bit of a conundrum that one as he is such a great player but we only seem to play one way when he is there.

No surprise to see old Uncle Roy get the boot from Anfield. I'm not sure 'King Kenny' will be the answer. The derby will certainly be interesting next weekend.

I enjoyed your last post. It is great to see things going so well for you and that really helps me see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am a lot more determined this time and you are really helping me along the way so thanks buddy!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hey Russ, that's impressive - keeping just over 8 minutes per mile in a 10k!

I've only ever done one 10k and I think it was 57 minutes so 51 minutes is great!

Any more events coming up for you?

GT

And as for those trainers I bought, it wasn't actually custom made for me. I just had extra help in choosing the right pair. They looked at my old trainers, bought out a couple of choices and analysed my run on the treadmill before recommending which one to go for.

And they certainly were honest as one pair was £50 more than the other! When I came back and checked online for the cheapest price for the ones I bought, they were only £10 less online. Now that's what I call service!

Good luck with getting the right trainers for you.

Hi Russ.

Thanks for your continued support on my diary.

Big match looming this weekend and what a bonus with Steve Gerrard being out. I'd take a draw right now though!

Keep up the good work mate.

hello russ.....as you pointed out to me dont let other diary writers wind you up...,as you know there was a bit of banter a few weeks back.....silence is golden mate....why let someone in nappies as far as recovering is concerned get to yourself when in a few weeks time you ll have done a year 😉

Couldn't agree more.

Some people on here are right wind up merchants.

I would post more...but I think someone needs to change my nappy.

Chill out ffs.

Peace to all.

Thanks for the posts. I hadn't realised that it's been nearly a week since I last posted on my diary. Time flies. I'm not really into counting days.....I just want to make a year, then have a gamble free 2011 and then so on and so on. Having said this I checked through a date calculator and it showed 302 days. I don't want to be congratulated for this as it's only a small step to a lifetime without gambling. I can't wait for the festival, as I will be opening a bottle of champagne on the Wednesday evening. Anyway, I got my new trainers and they seem to have done the trick. They cost 70 notes...yet they will make a massive difference to my bad ankle. 70 quid in the old days didn't even cover two horse races. I wish everybody all the best in their own battles Russ

I truly wish you success and I will continue to track your progress.

I just wanted to let you know that my blast at 'Colin' the other day wasn't my attempt at being a smart-a**e...or a know it all...

It's more to do with the fact that not many people on here have the same views as me. Therefore, I am constantly left feeling that I am somehow wrong in my method. This then makes me believe that I am doomed to fail. Yesterday was a particularly difficult day for me (gambling-thoughts wise) and I felt vulnerable in my own methods. I felt that if I believed Colin's process to success then I would have failed yesterday and gambled.

That's the same reason why I come across as so 'opinionated' also...because I have to try and confound that this will work for me.

So, Russ, wp, MyDiary, Dan-Addicted and anyone else I have annoyed in the past few weeks I apologise. I have re-read what I wrote on that thread and have deleted it. I never ever want to dissuade anyone from a method that may work for them...that would totally disrupt the work of this site.

It's friends I want on here. Non-gambling friends who all help and hear one another out - like no one else really can.

I will need to be here for the conceivable future and I don't mind admitting that I need people who have 'been there' to support me.

You've nearly done a year Russ...I hope to God I'm in the same position just before Christmas this year.

So, any chance of forgiveness? Need all the help I can get!

Again, with apologies, Matt

Hi Russ.

Thanks for the post mate. Any support i have given you has been returned tenfold so there is no need to thank me!

I'll be away golfing in Scotland when the festival is on this year which gives me the perfect reason to ignore it completely.

I'll try to take your advice about swapping the computer games for the gym! I need to get cracking on my diet as progress is slow!

Keep up the good work mate.

Glad that you got some new trainers. True, their cost does not matter as they will really help you in the long run. (Sorry for the cliche!)

And here is to many, many successful training and event runs this year!

Have a great gamble free weekend.
