What a shocker that England game was. We should send an all championship side out there. At least they might play as a team. No gambling, and I have to say that my old thoughts are leaving me. For example, I didn't even think about the odds for the game. Have a good week all.

Just had my parents come and visit the family. My dad is a legend, there is nothing that's too much for him. I shot my lowest round of golf for 14 years yesterday. Having a clear mind must be helping me. Still gamble free. The longer I go the easier it gets. I'm not complacent but I really feel I'm nearly there. I know I'm 33 but I feel lucky that I'm getting out of this now. My company is hosting a afternoon at the races next Friday. I won't gamble then or in the future.

The wife is currently at the top of kinder scout doing an evening walk. Good on her, it's a fair climb at 600 metres. I've been at home looking after the kids. No gambling for me and not a great deal to report. Just watching tiger at the moment on tv. The guy has gone right down hill, even his golf is suffering. He's a man who's had his addiction and it's cost him his family and a great deal of money in the biggest celebrity divorce in history.

Cheers for the post Russ,

Happy Gilmore has to be a 9 mate what with Apollo Creed playing a supporting role!

Just read through your diary. Well done on 100 days gamble free mate. Some achievement that. Keep it up.

I see from your diary you are 33, a keen golfer and someone mentioned you are an Evertonian. You may well be my long lost slightly uglier twin!

Keep up the good work Russ.

Cheers for the post Russ,

I've got an evening at the races this Friday as well but like you i shall not be gambling.

Good work on the 6.4 handicap mate. I'm at 4.4 at the moment and am looking to get a bit lower by the end of the year. The new found disclipline in my life will hopefully help!

Have a good gamble free weekend.

Not a lot to report from my world. Played in a fourball medal at the golf club today....we shot a net 63, not sure if that is good or average! I've been under the weather for the last couple of days....I went to bed at 7.30 last night!! Anyway, quite day with the kids today before a busy week at work. No gambling today or tomorrow.

Cheers for the post Russ,

I suspect a net 63 in a fourball betterball might see you just short of the champions league places. There are always four 'bandits' who get together in these comps and knock it round in 58!

'The Hangover' is excellent mate. Very funny and well worth a watch.

You are right about the second day of stiffness being worse than the first. I woke up before and thought i would go to the golf club for nine holes. Then i tried to get out of bed and thought better of it!

Enjoy your Sunday.

Thanks for the post on my diary. I have never had much patience but I do know that stopping gambing is something that requires a lot of time. If you start to play cricket again patience may help your batting--not doing mine any good at the moment as I am out of form with the willow but usually come good around mid-july. My main handicap is my body--falling to bits after 41 years of competitive cricket!!

all the best

Stumper

I've been away from the Internet for the last few days due to work. We managed to play some golf after the sales meeting. We played at a course near marrow, I couldn't believe how dry it was. Having said that, the north west is now on a hose pipe ban...unheard off! No gambling for me. I have the odd thought but I seem to be losing my habit way of thinking. I'm at York races on Friday on a work event. I won't be gambling.

Cheers for the post Russ,

I've not hit a golf ball in over a week now which is not like me. Legs have recovered from footy now though so i will hit a few after work tomorrow i think.

I'll do that deal with you regarding the races on Friday. No betting for either of us.

I've got faith in you mate.

York races for me tomorrow. I'm looking forward to another challenge. There's a bit of me that feels my past bad behaviour has spoiled the excitement of the day for myself....but I'm a big boy and I understand that I CANNOT ever gamble again. There is no such thing as 'controlled' gambling for a compulsive gambler. The forecast is good so I'll enjoy the food and the enjoyment of the others who I'm entertaining.

Hi Russ,

I hope the races passed without incident. I swerved Chester in the end. Wasn't in the mood for it but maybe subconsciously i was scared to put myself in the mix.

I've got golf early in the morning as well so i'll get a nice sleep now instead of getting on to the 1st tee still p*s**d.

All the best mate.
