Diagnosed many years ago with Doreenitis (inherited from my father - these cockermouthians have a lot to answer for) and have been self medicating following advice from a well respected US health professional called Joan ever since.

Take care and just sending another hug in case the last one is worn out.

Well hope your coming to some sort of peace with yourself. Sometimes we just need that me time to work things out in our heads. Guess time likes to drag itself out in the process or sure does feel that way anyways. LOL guess all good things are worth waiting for so be patient with yourself.

Thanky you All, a dose of fukitol, a reminder to laugh and as ever the honest DF reminding me that pride is a messed up ego.

Dear Diary...

Cant deny im still p*s-sed off but feel i'm coming out the other side.

Did manage to get other the threshold of a GA meet last night and yep did feel right. Didn't say anything but listened of peoples story's and the strength in how there facing things. I do know a good decent person inside of me but got lost and let the addictive side of me rule the roost.

Finally realising that change isn't just going to land on my doorstep but need to look right inside my psyche and face the things what have stunted me.

Had felt an element of guilt this week about dropping people in it at work but think proving its just what I needed, with only a 5day break early on in year. A little bit of clarity for nice change and good positive phone call earlier.

Keeping bust today, sorting S***e out which have been putting off. Do need to get out and socialise but keeping off the beer, doob and gambling my main priority, so will keep the company of my duvet for now....

Strength to ALL

RIP Nelson.. A man who fought his own demons and showed what spirit we all have.

Hey V..

Good on ya for going over the threshold and hopefully you will return...

In my groups they used to say.... "Give us 6 weeks and if it's still not for you then go back to your misery. " at the time I wanted to punch them when I heard that but every group is different ...mine were a load of scousers.... ..lol

You seem motivated today V and long may that continue ..a shot in the arm of the good stuff at GA..

Can't echo your sentiments on NM but all I will say is let's hope Jerry Dammers from the Specials kept the royalties and I can't see Morgan Freeman being out of work any time soon.. 😉

R and D ..always a cynical twatola xxxx

Its all an illusion...

Acceptance

1.

Aging is real; loss is real.

To deny reality is to live in illusion.

2.

Hurricanes blow; seas swell high.

Still, the sun rises and songbirds sing.

3.

Everything changes.

Bend like bamboo that doesn’t break in the wind.

4.

On one side, the past, on the other the future.

Today you have your name, so let us speak to one another.

5.

You are always in the now.

Already it is gone.

6.

What you are doing right now is the most important thing.

Therefore, pay attention to what you are doing.

7.

As surely as you were born, you will die.

You will take your place amongst the soil and the stars.

8.

Death is real.

But death is no more real than love.

9.

Who can dance at times of desolation?

Look into a child’s eyes and see what love there is.

10.

Accept reality.

Live the life you have been given.

Wow V, great words over there..very true...sometimes all we need is just to listen, get deeper into the words we hear and it all can make the whole different perspective.

Glad for you my friend...and still smiling about my little video...you are funny guy...:-)

Thank you again and keep it up V

Nothing changes if nothing changes

"Accept reality.

Live the life you have been given".

"To deny reality is to live in illusion " ...I love that one as I hate illusion..was never big on magic tricks or hypnosis..lol

I'm so glad you are posting and keeping connected to the forum ...made up at you going over the threshold and I am beaming from ear to ear when you said it felt like a place you felt ok in.

You are a terrific person (and I still say that even if you were not going to meetings btw..) ..I just think you are so much more than you think you are.

Yeah ..maybe me clapping my hands loudly in front of your face may not be always the right thing..but let's call it electric shock treatment..lol .......

R and D ..always a pain in the a**. Xxx

Pps...On the NM thing....not cynical about the mans life..just about the date. 😉 xx
