As it happens im quite a gadget man with plenty of attachments. Hooks, trowel, hammer etc. But take your point on the H&S aspect.

Job search continues.

From the serial bird killer.

He may not want a therapist working with him, but it would be preferable to a multi limbed bird slayer

Thankfully then I didn't have any multi-grain. I have got some fat balls in the garden though (and no, that's not a pet name for the OH) 🙂

Seems like neither of us got the job. His loss! I think he should have employed us both. You could have done all the work (more hands make light work) and I could have counselled any of the traumatised customers. What a team!

Anyway, school run beckons. And I think you've got painting to do x

Hi,V, sorry to read you didn't get the job, but there will be plenty more opportunities on the horizon for you, sooo keep positive on that one,

In answer to your last question:))) yes I had quite a few life changes in my twenties, :)) got married very very young:(( had two boys

and then got divorced and married again all in the space of seven years lol.

I guess I let go of my grudges, simply because I grew up, !!!!

We can't take our past with us when we go:)) so what is the point of holding on to all that negative past, we need to let go to move on and as you say make room for the next lot, ohh:)),

Life is for living in the today, past has gone, and we haven't a clue about tomorrow.

Keep trucking my friend, and keep safe.

Yep you knew thst answer my friend:)) once I start typing (or talking lol,) I can't stop, (ring a bell lol) never did think before I spoke and still don't to a certain degree ohh :)) hey you have given me another thought now about me, think before I speak, not with typing or writing though, it just flows off me:))

Now do you honestly want me to beg and plead to PoPs about a job lol,

Listen a job that you want will just come out of the blue when you least expect it, just like me selling our house, :))

I do believe that if we are desparate (maybe too strong a word) but if we hang our heart out on something (if that makes sense) it never materialises,) good things happen when we least expect them too, (well that's always been in my case lol)

Keep firing the questions when required, hey it's helping me too so thanks a lot xx,

Sorry I can't answer that question on the vacancy with Alan, may be better to wait a bit, as he is not too well at the mo:))

Keep trucking and look after those birds:))))

Back on a train again. Just like the great Roberto Duran decided to throw in the towel for now with my painting. TBC.

Just out of the therapist. I'm what you could consider as a non hairy ar,se builder but enjoying this chat with this quite engaging person as we share therapy. It's always quite amusing, rarely too deep and the odd watering of eyes or as ODAAT puts it tiny tears.....

My alter ego's.

Jiggy = A clear headed man putting the pieces together.
Volcano = The inner child led adult, who holds in his emotions and eventually explodes.
Windmill = The arm waving letting out the emotions with the arms as my communication.
The student = Too much thinking, not enough actions.

Slowly going to be The Revenant.

Now processing..................

Hi Paul , With ref to "What drives me " Ummmh ! I don't think I am that motivated TBH , the thing's I do tend to be more about neccesity than anything else . I've been motivated to do things as life's changed around me . The last 8 years or so since my divorce have had a big impact on what I've had to do or achieve I suppose .

My ex wife had a pretty serious drink problem that culminated in her seeking a divorce rather than trying to deal with it at the time , it wasn't a great divorce she wouldnt do mediation so all got a bit silly and expensive with solicitors letters back and forth and when my son who was 13 at the time wanted to stay with me , she went mental , he's 21 this year and the last time he saw her was about 5 years ago so not a great time for anyone really .

When we divorced the agreement was that she got 50% of the house 50% of the buisiness and would pay me maintenance , so I ended up re mortgaging quite heavily, the first bit was ok but I had one maintenence payment from her and since that time received £5 a week from the csa because she decided to give up work !.

Sorry got a bit side tracked there , anyway necessity made me work harder to provide for him as he went to a fee paying school I didn't want to take him out at such a vunerable time and now he's gone onto uni , I still need to support him to some degree.

I also hate paying people to do a job that I'm capable of doing myself , when I was younger and had a quote to re wire a house I had , Think it was about 3k at the time but when I priced the materials up they were about £200 , so I bought a book on wiring diagrams , did all the work, then called in the electric company to test and connect , job done ! . The same with plastering , massive quote , so taught myself , first couple were a bit ropey but soon got the hang and nowadays I could pass the inspection.

You'll be glad to hear that I'm not that good at bricklaying just yet !

Funny as it seems coming from an ex gambler I'm not money motivated , but I suppose with us CG's it's not about the money , it may start that way but doesn't end like that

I'm comfortable around people but being an only child I'm just as happy with my own company and that transfers into my life by seeing it as "If I don't do it , who will " ? So maybe that motivates me too ? even though I have staff in the shop I find it very difficult to let them get on with stuff because I always want to step in and do it myself !.

Just lately , since giving up gambling I'm motivated to earn a bit more and get some money built up again , maybe that's a bit of guilt for wasting so much or I'm just thinking of my daughter's wedding in August and my son's 21st in the same month , Ouch !..

Glad to hear your a man after my own heart , Rugby union's always been my passion , played bit at school but my son played from 6 untill 17 yrs both for school and club , I really miss those day's of watching him train midweek and have a school match on saturdays and if he survived unscathed another club game on sunday's ,he used to be so sore by monday morning , poor sod but Character building they call it !. He played at 9 scrum half but was always a good kicker so had no problem swiching to 10 , he was lucky with having a good coaching team , his last coach at school used to train Anthony allen the former Gloucester and England center and arranged a meet for me and my son at a Wasps match , got some good photos of Laurence D , with his massive hands on my sons shoulders , Great memories !!.

Can't ever get my head around football and all the diving around clutching your head in your hands when youv'e been kicked in the foot ? Still each to there own eh !

So Paul hope that helps a bit ?, when I saw the post I thought ,great another bloody therapist LOL !

Until we talk again Paul , Crouch, touch, pause, engage as they used to say , why change that ?

When the cats away the mice will play...

Back on a train again, off to educate the smart strong 75yr young old man as the scowling mother is a way.

A motley crew of his mates, where I'll no doubt drink some of the worse lager in the country. Washed down with a bacon sandwich, which no doubt I'll hear for the whole weekend. The old jokes are always the best.

For the 1st time last night, thought of this - 47 days gamble free. If it's only one day at a time, my question is, does the day count matter?

Sleep diary sleep as off to be the student Zzzzzzz

Hey jiggy :))

You have made me chuckle with your post to me, about eye contact, was shopping today at the whiterose shopping mall, and no matter how much I turned left or right to avoid oncoming people, they were still heading straight for me :(( ll.

Ohh yes I sure gave eye contact, grrrr, if looks could kill, I would of had a few murders on my hands.Ohhh lol

On to more serious stuff she says :)), this day count only matters if you want to do the day count for you, if you don't need/want to do it, then don't, if you do then do lol, best way forward for us individuals, is not to become sheep lol, baa, baa, it really is a choice thing, but I do think it gives us soo much inspiration at the beginning to see the day count go upwards, as long as we don't slip down the ladder, lol, then it's an instant negative, but I do admire folks on here when they restart their count, because it shows their determination and strength :)))

Keep enjoying the rollercoaster ride and keep holding on tight with guard tightly up.

Suzanne xxx

Ohh PS fantastic going on 47 days, keep strong and keep safe X

Just catching up on your diary. Sorry to hear about the job situation but it is only a matter of time before you stumble over the right one as long as you keep looking. We believe in you, honest!

Your motivation question is an interesting one. I tend to be obsessive more than motivated which is considerably less healthy if equally effective. It drives me to deliver work goals even if the report is sent out at three in the morning before crawling into bed for an hour and starting all over again. It makes me play the same level of Candy Crush for three days just to get the third star. It makes me try to be in three places at the same time to do everything I'm supposed to do. Until recently it made me watch the reels spin again and again and again waiting for the win that surely must be due. My gambling managed feed my obsessive behaviour whilst convincing me it was an escape from the same. I guess we need to take a step back to see how bonkers our situation has become.

Take care and keep counting; that plus one feeling can't be beat. Jx

Random question Alert.

Is life all about what thresholds you cross or is it about pavements?

Hi jiggy,

Love your randem question alerts :))

If you keep going forward on the pavement you will meet a threshold, to cross, if you keep falling down on the pavement, it means you are just going round a roundabout, every path forwards leads to some sort of threshold to cross over,
