Hi

I’ve finally had enough of the horrible cycle of gambling.

For years s I’ve justified it by saying that I'm not in credit card debt but I suppose I’m part of the lucky few in that respect.

Gambling has changed me as a person. I’m miserable, checking my phone to see if the both teams to score bet double has landed to win £45 to use on my next bet.

This is every weekend. From when I finish work on a Friday to late Sunday. Then the online gambling on slots and roulette. Last night I lost £200 and I’m due to go on holiday with my wife and wonderful kids. That money could of paid for trips or nice meals but instead I wanted to gamble.

I’ve never gotten into debt but I’m letting gambling stop me doing what I want to do. I’m 35 and never driven!

Sorry if it feels like I’m rambling I just needed to talk.

Best bit of advice i would give you is get those blocks in place asap, sign up to Gamban which makes it very difficult for you to gamble online, tell someone close to you,get the free councilling available on here, keep busy doing other things, start a recovery diary on here, just i few things that have helped me, but above all you have to put the effort in and REALLY want to stop.Nothing changes if nothing changes, it wont be easy but if you put the hard work in things can and will get better .... have a good look on here where there is plenty more good advise about, all the best and keep posting there is no need to feel like you are rambling ... i wish you well.

Yea been there myself its taken me years and loads of failed attempts, but its only now that i have everything out in the open and good blocks in place that i am finally starting to feel the benifits of remaining gamble free ... it can be done but you have to want it.

Thank you Chartom. I’m off work for a week now and after a couple of pints this afternoon I was tempted to go in the bookies when walking past but thankfully I didn’t.

Thank you Beatrice. Ive been doing it for years. I could have money left in my bank and think I’ll just bet it all as my bills are paid but it’s affecting my mental state so it’s timr to stop. I know it sounds stupid but it feels like someone has died. That’s the sad reality of it for me at the moment.
