When thoughts are filling my head,

They're better out, someone once said.

I'd much rather ramble

Than consider to gamble.

I'm Lazarus, back from the dead.

Day 497 without a single penny or emotion wasted. I'm proud of that.

Time for a rissotto

Hi Steve

Just read your post on the 'debating thread'. I respect and acknowledge your views and that you believe complete abstinence is the only way.

Just to qualify my position:

1. I dont 'promote' gambling as such, although my chosen recovery route does involve continuing to gamble. Any references to gambling on my thread have been posted as important parts of my recovery.

2. I have acknoweldged Forum etiquette and I know that references could affect others. Having said that there are potential triggers all over the media and others on here have stated that it is up to the individual whether to act on anything they read (Others words not mine).

3. Whilst posts by me seem to be central right now, there are numerous posts I could quote on here which I have read on here in the last 3 years which could be deemed inappropriate for various reasons.

4. Last but not least, Gamcare support Problem gambling and controlled gambling. One does not have to practice complete abstinence to be on here - see Rebecca's thread from a couple of weeks ago for details of scope on this.

I have been grateful for your posts and support and trust I can continue to have your support although I appreciate you do not agree with my recovery route.

Best Wishes

Morning Sir,

I have read that you will be lesser spotted for a 100 days which is a shame as you offer so much to this forum. However, I won't dwell on that. What I wanted to say was a massive congratulations on hitting that 500 days. I have always referred back to your first post on your diary but I think it's such an amazing success story to look at where you were to where you are now. Hopefully I will catch up with you in 100 days.

I wish I had discovered your diary sooner. I haven't read the whole thing... just the beginning and the last pages and found so much wisdom and humour. Hat's off to you!

Well if you think you're going to get a " oh well we'll miss you" message off me, you are sadly mistaken. I have continued to read the forum throughout the last year, but chose not to post much for a variety of reasons... then... a few nights ago... I read through my diary.... which your good self and the three witches were heavily involved in... and I missed that cyber friendship. I then decided that I would post.. only to find that you had decided to f**k off for a hundred days.... f******k... I thought... ook.. aswell.

So I searched and searched on facebook for you... there's f*****g hundreds of you... a famous animator/artist that I thought was you... but then thought you might have mentioned being involved in " the Black Couldron" for Disney .. at least hint to it.

So Steg... if you should mistakenly press your Gamcare button and read this... ( I said I wouldn't do this)... you are too valuable to this site to let one principle, which I in no way wish to dismiss, make you leave.

I hope you remain well and wealthy in life.

Jon

PS: 148 days here

PPS:It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
