I have not gambled for a very long time, around 4 years and I will tell you what I have done.
1. I have registered for something (which prevents me to gamble online, on any site), I found that information here on this website, but I do not remember how I did that.
2. I was not able to go to my local casino, because I sign something with the manager (I remember holding a passport and they took the picture)
After initial 2-3 weeks when I tried everything to continue gambling and I could not, I just stopped thinking about it.
That is how easy it was - 2-3 weeks.
Now I don't have financial problems, my life is normal, I am going out enjoy in it, going to restaurants, pubs, theatres...
It is much easier than you think it is. All you need is to put blocks that will prevent you from gambling for 2-3 weeks, after that, the time will heal you.
Life is 100 times better without gambling.

Im 2 weeks since registering so i cannot deposit online, i did this as a safety net, i want to see if i now have the will power to make the change, i believe i do, they say it takes 28 days to change a behaviour and i feel im half way there, i understand it is different for different people too

@snooprog not true I been off gambling for 34 days and yesterday I went to werherspoon for lunch.Didnt think anything of it.
Once I seen fruit machines quess what I've done?
Put money in it without thinking all my I don't gamble no more I never gamble again gone in the air within seconds
@oneofyou Well done yourself on staying gambling free but I’d suggest just saying how you did it rather than suggesting that all anyone has to do is get past two to three weeks then it’s easy. Many people struggle even with the blocks. I myself relapsed after 3 years because I wasn’t able to cope with a situation I found myself in. If a strategy works then keep going but always beware that an addiction is never cured, just arrested.
