Good on you Gooner,

You'll find this forum quite a sanctuary from the gambling mayhem. Lots of people walking in the same shoes. Share and post and go at your own pace.

I wish you well.....

Thanks Volcano, hopefully this will the fresh start I've been looking for for so many years!

and instead of waking up and looking at today's meetings, football etc, I actually came straight here...which already I feel positive about! This is my new distraction, and one that will hopefully help me out of this gambling world!

good morning and hello new life!

Probably about 11 years ago I started gambling, not so bad at first but the last 7/8 years have been hell! Bet mainly on football and shop machines, but would try turn my hand to anything, last night I blew 500 betting on virtual greyhound racing and that was enough for me, this has to stop now! I have a young son and one on the way, the missus pulling her hair out and we ain't in the best of places...everything is so stressful!

Just on lunch at work, day 1, normally I'd buy a few scratch cards, but I've been shop and the thought crossed my mind, left without buying a single one! Weird but good feeling and glad I didn't!

Gooner,

Again welcome from the gates of hell. You need to proud of yourself for atleast finding this forum and realising like all of us here that we've got a serious problem. If you read around you'll find some great nuggets of information. Some will suit you, some wont, this is your own personal journey but you can get an abundance of overwhelming positive support.

This is a real sly addiction not only harming you but your nearest and dearest. Whats done is done and whats gone is gone. But of no use in beating yourself up anymore, the gambling has been doing that long enough. It appears your a fellowbookie gambler like me, so self exclsion a good start, handing over your finances to Mrs Gooner. This will be both reassuring to Mrs but also a big barrier for you. There's a triangle of barriers, which you'll find by reading/ sharing.

Its not an easy road but gooners never like it easy, so as your footie team, keep moving forward and get some breathing space from the gambling S****e.

Hey, day 1 complete!! Went to work, done no gambling, watched the football tonight, made a prediction in my head but never picked up the phone to bet! So day 1 complete and geared up for tomorrow! And I've never done things the easy way...

Looking into K9 for the iPhone if anyone can help me out...can't seem to get it to work?
