@adam123 Hi Adam. 🙂.

I am glad you are taking a break and being kind to your mind and your body. 👌. When I was reading some of your past entries, I did wonder whether you were doing too much, too soon and whether you would eventually burn yourself out. Congratulations though for sticking to your goals and even better, for having them in place. 👏👏👏. I like to set myself little goals and challenges but it’s important to keep them realistic and within reaching distance so I don’t set myself up to fail.

Hope you are resting well this Bank Holiday.  Take care and keep doing well. 👍.

Hi pink lady thanks for popping by....... yes i took the challenge too seriously (as i allways do), and my competitiveness came thru at the start (getting up at one am first morning to start lol, then 430am, then 615am, and that was just the first day lol), but then altho i saw myself buring out and getting ill, i did stop on the thursday night and with a cough i managed to stop at that point and although it wasnt the end of the comp till sunday night i stopped on the friday saturday and sunday and rested up.....it meant i came second in the competition instead of winning it but it was the best decision for my health and long term goals.

i intend to keep this physical routine going as part of my healthy lifestyle...... soo far over the first 7 weeks ive walked 50,50,60,60,68,78,40 miles in each week...... ive on average eaten a mere 1600 calories each day......and some days the calories burnt have been 2000 calories.....putting me in a major calorie defecit which is why its worked soo well for me.

Ive taken a step back after the comp (the 40 mile week), have eaten some snacks like crisps, eaten a pappa johns today, plus a bbq and curry on saturday....and have rested in order to give me a bit of a break.....

However today after dinner i weighed in at 86 kgs on the dot and i tried on some trousers that ive not been able to wear for fifteen years as they are a waist 34 inch and i can now fit in them again.

Im ont just pleased with my progress IM ECSTATIC!!!!!! ive allways said on here over the last allmost ten years that id like to lose weight.....its been a battle.....one that has been the one obsticle that ive never been able to get past......but now with the right tweaks and help and advice from many people at work and at home ive major major steps towards it.

So ill continue on this path....... The next step will be....... actually im not going to set any targets im just going to continue with it and go with the flow....... ive achieved everything ive set out to achieve.

Evening dear diary...... Kinda taken a step back from my diet...... ate a second pappa johns in three days...... not good aye...... but it was a small hawain each time.......so im not saying it was a good move each time.....however its my birthday week and i have been doing soo well so i feel i deserve a rest week from the diet...... each pizza is 1100 calories and it brought me in supprisingly along with the exercise for the day as on target on my calorie intake...... over the past 4 weeks on average ive eaten 1543 cals a day 58% of target calories so im doing really really great.....

Weigh in day tomo...... so hopefully the scales will be kind.....and if they arent ill just get back to basics and smash so good exercise the rest of the week.

its my birthday in 55 minutes....30th may.....ill be 43..... got tomo and friday as wellness days so off work for 4 days..... looking forward to healthy meals....gym....coffees and films with friends....xbox a plenty.....films......

Im going to continue with my exercise program indefinitely..... im determined to get slim..... I started this journey on the 22nd of april..... so im only 5 weeks in.....and im down more than a trouser size.....Ive ordered some more work trousers and im confident they will fit me as my current ones are huge on me now.

Ive been promoting good exercise and health at work.....movement is the way forward....

I just hope i dont get an injury from walking soo much.....best not to think about it i guess.

Onwards i go adam xx

Yesturday was my 43rd birthday......had lunch out with friends then dinner round folks.....lovely day.

Wow 12 days since last post and boy I've been busy... I've done very well at work (will update when at a reasonable hour) I've spent quite a bit of money on a PS5 and subscriptions for it.....  And I've just started my two week holiday.. .. will post tomo but I'm in a very very good place ....    I think it's time for a new diary....

Going to devon on Monday so will post a new reflective diary to start on my holiday whilst in a reflective mood.

Going to focus my holiday on eating well and exercising (although today I ate not one, not two, not three and not four but five doughnuts and some Pringles oh well I thought I'd treat myself....

@adam123 Hi Adam and well done!👏👏. Devon is a lovely place to go to so enjoy that.

I believe it is really important to treat ourselves - especially if we are working hard and being paid for it so I hope you are enjoying your PS5. As for the doughnuts…….. I could never get through 5 all in one go!🤣🤣. The important thing is, as long as you enjoyed them and you know this is something you are not doing on a daily basis then don’t worry about it I say 😊.

Take care and have a lovely two weeks break 👌.

Hi pink lady thanks as allways for popping by.....

Kinda neglected my diaries whilst being on holiday...... also kinda neglecting my fitness and diet whilst being off work but that goes hand in hand with being on holiday.

I went to the gym whilst on holdiay each day...... which is great....but ive really struggled to get any real distance in.....not sure why ? but i went to the gym for an hour each day....done weights and cardio but didnt get too much distance in my walking.

It is however good to get rest whilst being on holiday and im thankful for lots of sleep ive got (slept 15 hours last night not even joking).....

So my main aim for the rest of the week is to build on my steps.....

Think the main reaon for this is that my watch broke on holiday..... ive been religously looking at it each day to see my steps....and without it ive been lax on the axtual steps ive done.

I weighed myself this morning and i was 85.5kgs....... so ive not gained or lost any over the last few weeks.....

Ive eaten well....not in a healthy way....but ive made sure i havent over eaten.

So tomo im having a bbq but will aim to go to the gym in the morning.....

Weighed myslef a minute ago and 86.50 at heaviest part of day so pretty good....

Had a bbq today with friends but ive actually eaten less than a normal day.... i had a burger two pieces of chorizo and some melon and a packet of crisps and thats it....

Went to the gym this evening and done 45 mins on treadmill and some leg exercises like prescribed.

Talked to my folks about what im planning on eating and im not going to eat any frozen food anymore apart from vegtables..... so fresh food...... in abundance.

Going to go to gym again tomo and play table tennis with mum plus treadmill.....

Bolognese for dinner tomo.....

Ill have scrambled eggs for breakfast/lunch...

All in all great progress and have not taken a back step thru hol.

I put my advice on the forum chat last night and the mod said I'd been told not to post it all in one go...as it blocks up the chat...personally I think it doesn't matter....it's put with good intention...... They were pretty blunt....

I'm going to take a short break from chat.....and just post on diaries....

I'll keep going with fitness thread and exercise and diet.

All the best Adam xx

As you know your advice helped me out no end, i sort of get occasionally chat is flowing and a long (though absolutely helpful and relevant) post may sometimes stop the flow of the chat and needs to be judged and posted accordingly. Dont take stuff to heart Adam the mods are trying their best to facilitate us all at different stages in our recoveries, stick in there you have helped me more than you may know or realize and no doubt many others too. We are all on the same side to save as many souls as possible going through lives that see no way out from gambling, and you do it better than most. In life the second greatest gift you can have is learning and being the best you can possibly be this will bring happiness, but the GREATEST gift you can have in life is helping others achieve the former this will bring more happiness so do not get disheartened by advice and guidance in the long run it will polish and refine you to help even more people. 906 days here now, and a lot of it down to you and your ilk, chin up move forward.

Ps i lost around 3 kgs whilst away on holiday which was very unexpected, and averaged around 10,000 steps per day, possibly down to this diary?

I am thankful that this thread has helped both of us lids...... if it can help one more soul id be very grateful.

Today was a great day for me....... i went to the gym to play table tennis with mum and dad...... then went to sainsburys and bought a pizza, dessert and some soup...... then came back and a friend came over and we watched the England game..... was really good we needed a goal and we delivered within a couple of minutes....

Pretty much rested today after a busy week...... i was super tired last night and cancelled my friend coming over today then had a good sleep and felt much better when i woke up.
