Hi all

Another day of me not gambling, dare I say it 'getting easier'.

However, caution is the key.

Hi Shaun

Well done on 36 days gamble free. You're right to think that caution is key at this stage, we must remain on our guard at all times and never think we are back in control. You must start to see so many benefits from not gambling now and hope this will help with any urges you have to gamble.

Keep up the fight

James

Hi how do you start a diary of your own?

Does anyone have any information on DMP’s would it be that bad to have one? Would it mean I’d have to sell my house? Any advice welcomed thank you

Hi Kel

It's easy to start a diary, go to the recovery diaries option and then new topic at the bottom of the page. Not sure about Debt Management Programme, sorry. Good luck.

Hi guys

The start of another gamble free week for us all, must admit, never found giving up gambling as easy as I am now, maybe this is it!

What has helped is my thing was bookies roulette machines and nothing else, now that I have read countless diaries coupled with my own research, I have come to the conclusion that they are nothing but glorified fruit machines. Yuccckkkk!

Wow!

I went into town today knowing I need to steer clear of bookies, it's only when you look around then it hits you, there are so many of them cluttered in a small amount of space. Within 5 streets there are 4 W*****m H***s.

Most rely on the FOBT's (I know as I have it confirmed), what is going to happen to the bookies when/if the stake is reduced from £100 to the reportedly £2.

Stay safe, we are not going to gamble today.

Good post shaun and who gives a monkies what will happen to the bookies, let's hope they all leave our highstreets all together and be 'online' only businesses. Wouldn't that be great to have none of those s**t holes in our high streets and towns.

Well done mate, nope, Gambling is a no no.

Hi guys

All is well, can't help noticing but I always have a little extra in my wallet these days. If I get tempted to have a gamble, I think of a big loss I have had in the past and that horrible feeling coupled with regret of all the things I could have brought with the money - brings it all home.

Hi Shaun well done on your gf days really pleased for you, read your diary and totally agree, all the bad stuff that comes with gambling is huge and we do well to remember how we felt. Its only since coming on here I learnt what the stake can be for FOBTs it’s disgusting terrible thing, I’ve lost so so much by betting £20s £50s on online slots those FOBTs are evil to take so much just like the online slots where you can deposit as ‘little’ as a fiver, course then with us as cgs we keep putting more and more and can’t stop. I feel so sorry for ppl who’ve lost £10k in just one session they all should be banned full stop. It’s destroying so many ppl. Best wishes to you on your gf life 🙂

Hi diary

Onwards and upwards, nothing to report gambling wise, quite but I like that subject quite as it means I haven't gambled.

Take care guys and remember, we are not gambling today.

Hi Shaun

Well done opn getting to 52 days gamble free, big mile stone of half a century has been completed. Big congrats for going in to town and not gambling, i think this is so hard as a compulsive gambling, especially when FOBTs were your vice. I bet you felt amazing coming home having not gambled and hope you treated yourself to something nice.

Keep up the good work mate, your doing really good!
