Thankyou ODAAT, just 3 little words but it's heart warming when somebody cares. Not sneezing so much but my nose is still running and putting up with a mild headache. I am not very good at being unwell ! Hope your ok and not going overboard with your healthy eating and fitness campaign ! I recently noticed a sign saying I would use 6 calories walking up stairs to the next floor which I did. I looked around wondering where the 6 calories had gone but they had disappeared !

Morning Diary. My music choice today, (courtesy of Mixer), tells of the thoughts of an inhabitant of Pompeii when Mount Vesuvias erupted in 79 AD, burying his home in molten lava. Could he survive the devastation and what where his options ! As compulsive gamblers many of us have seen our lives crumble around us and asked the same question ' Is there a way out of this mess'!

.....Pompeii by Bastille.... But if you close your eyes does it feel like nothing has changed at all ? - And if you close your eyes does it almost feel like you've been here before - We are caught up and lost in all our vices.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for the hat tip re your song choice today; such a poignant one and I play it most days. It somehow helps, along with all the other songs you feature, to help retune my mind away from the bad stuff, and into better times ahead.

Really sorry you're under the weather right now; we are all thinking of you.

Thankyou Sharon and Mixer for your well wishes. Sneezing and runny nose this morning which I don't like one little bit.

Need some music to rattle my cage and cheer me up. Sometimes my drive and ambitions are boosted by satisfactorily completing tasks which I had been neglecting. When feeling like 'can't do this can't do that ' it's good to give myself a little push to get myself motivated. Within reason there is no limit to what we can achieve.

My music choice today is No limit by 2 Unlimited ...... No no limits, we'll reach for the sky! - No valley to deep, no mountain too high - No no limits, won't give up the fight - We do what we want and we do it with pride.

Thankyou Sharon, still sniffling a bit but on the mend. Hope your well and having a good weekend.

Sunday morning so I will say a big thankyou to my Angels for their unwavering support. They are my Higher Power as I play life's game, they are on the touchline cheering me on. They're not allowed to come on the pitch until full time but than we can have a chat about it all afterwards.

My music choice today is ... Angels by Robbie Williams ... And through it all she offers me protection - A lot of love and affection - Whether i'm right or wrong - And down the waterfall - Wherever it may take me - I know that life won't break me - When I come to call, she won't forsake me - I'm loving angels instead

Hi Stephen on day 157! Glad you're on the mend. Up bright and early today, have had a peculiar week as literally everyone around me is having a tough time of it, which is sad. One friend seems to be having one bad thing after another thrown at her and even though I have done my best (I think) to support her I wish I could do more. But I guess life is tough sometimes and as we know too well there us no magic wand. Gre at song choice, I think it's good to have something to believe in whatever it maybe. Have a lovely Sunday my friend S:)

A wonderful song choice Stephen and delighted you're on the road to recovery. We all need our Angels... always making sure we boot the demons into touch whenever they start to encroach, too!

Enjoy your Sunday. Sunny here. Although told it might get a bit windy tomorrow on the news. How on earth did they know I'm having a Madras later....!

Hi Stephen

Well done on 157 days bet free you know you have this positive way of posting especially to other people. I think it’s a good attribute to have. You’re definitely on to something using music in recovery. I sometimes wonder if there’s hidden meanings in songs that it’s not till you sit back you actually hear. I never really listened to music before i quit gambling but I now use it often especially to lift my mood. So I’ll leave you with this one from Elton

Keep it up bud and all the best

Hello Diary . Feeling humbled honoured and full of gratitude. Posts on my diary from Sharon, Mixer and Wentworth, three well respected members of the GamCare community.

Sharon .... you just get better every day, 7 months GF and plenty of daylight between you and that last bet. It's sad when your friends and family struggle with personal issues, I imagine they would open up to you because of your caring nature and understanding. I think when we're in the gambling bubble we're not aware of other peoples struggles, it's only with time that we can open up more. My cold is better now thankyou.

Mixer ....good to see you progressing well and lending so much support to your fellow travellers. Admire and respect your efforts in the Guru Challenge, the Sunday Rollcall contains information, updates, humour and is a work of art.

Wentworth ....Impressed with your 13 months GF. Massive achievement and the way you study and analyse gambling along with addiction gives other travellers insight and food for thought.

Music choice for today has been recommended by Wentworth and seconded by Sharon ....Your Song by Elton John

Tnankyou Merry he has such an amazing talent but has also experienced a lot of sadness in his life.

Nice sunny day and the birds are singing. Great to be alongside my GamCare friends as I celebrate my 67th birthday.

Plenty of variety here on the diaries, troubled souls from here there and everywhere all joined together fighting the mother of all battles.

My music choice today is a real blast from the past .....Let's work together by Canned Heat .... Before when things go wrong, as they sometimes will - And the road you travel, it stays all uphill - Let's work together, come on, come on, let's work together - You know together we will stand, every boy, girl, woman and a man.
