Hi LHN,

Just popping by to say - you're doing great! Day 44 today, as you've posted, and, having just read your diary from the start, you are demonstrating fantastic resolve.

And you're right; there are ups and downs as we start to re-tune our brains into the far more pleasant, guilt-free, richer (and not just financially) way of life.

We will continue to have ups and downs, but the way I look at it is this.

We are not on a GF journey; we have arrived at our GF destination! We are there!

All we have to do, to stay at this wonderful place, is do one small thing daily.

Say something like: "I like it here and want to stay here! So, I won't gamble today. Whatever life throws at me!"

Fantastic you're on Day 44, LHN; really heartwarmingly great to hear 🙂

Hi Mixer,

I've only just seen your reply! Day 51 today and I couldn't be happier. With pay day looming again I'm looking forward to spending money on myself!

Thanks for the support. 🙂

I've unfortunately gone back to day 0. I feel so disappointed in myself as I was so close to 100 days.

I know what started it again so onto round 2 (the final round)...

I needed to come on here as it helps me more than I probably know. A diary is so so important and I think that's where I fell because I stopped coming on here so often.

In the grand scheme of things my loss isn't massive but at the end of the day, a loss is a loss. I messed up, it's my fault, no excuses. I hate how easy it was to fall back into the trap but I have two days off from today with my amazing other half who I do not deserve.

And although I don't have as much money to spend now, I am going to make the best of a bad situation.

My promise to myself going forward is to post on here at least twice a week and the same on Mixer's 100-day challenge.

L x

Another wobble for me 🙁 £200 down but firmly back on it as my partner found out yesterday and I can't risk losing him. I didn't leave myself with no money so have treated him to a takeaway tonight as a way of showing him my gratitude for him sticking by me again!

This time I am determined to reach 100 days GF. And beyond!

Today is 95 days GF. Today I had thoughts to gamble but didn't! I'm so determined to reach 100 days. My target after 100 days will be 150.

I've tried so so hard this time and this time I cannot break my promise as I've promised my Grandad that I won't 'do anything silly' (as he put it). Since I made that promise, he passed away and I am determined to do him proud x

It's day 3 and I'm happy to say I'm still gamble free! No urges to gamble, just really tired after my latest relapse. Things cooling off with parents and had a good chat last night. Spoke to my sister today about my addiction, went well. She was really supportive and it is nice to have somebody else in my family I can speak to or call when I have urges.

Hope everybody has a nice weekend x

I didn’t reach 100 days that time but this time round I’m proud to say I’m on 144 days gamble free. Being off sick this week, and the various promotional emails that keep coming through has made me want to have a little flutter but I know that I can’t just do £10 or £20, it will turn into hundreds. I’m unbelievably proud of myself and I hope it doesn’t sound like I’m big headed but that’s how I feel. I cannot wait to reach 200 days gamble free, then 300, then it will be my year mark.

Keep going everyone x
