I have just spent ages reading your diary right from the begining Dan, you are such an inspiration 2 me being just one week gamble free and having debts too pay too as a result of gambling, I am now going to phone all my creditors and work out how long it will take me 2 pay everything, luckily enough it should only be about 2 years, I have been hiding from them but reading your diary has given me the kick up the ar*e to face up to the problems my gambling has caused.A massive congratulations on a year, I hope you are going 2 celebrate with that lovely supportive wife of yours.I have copied and pasted something you wrote about 11 1/2 months ago......

"cant believe its been over a week already, cant wait to post thats its been a year......"

Congratulations, you have done it!!!!Here's to many more years!!!

Hi Dan.

Congratulations to you mate!!! You should be very proud of yourself. It's amazing what can be achieved with pure determination. The idea of going a year gamble free may have seemed unlikely when you were at your lowest ebb but here you are!!

What now? Well you have proven that a life without gambling is infinitely better than a life with gambling in it. Never forget the pain that gambling can cause to yourself and those around you. Keep winning your fight for a better life.

You are a shining light Dan and long may that continue.

Well done pal.

Hi Dan,

Wanted to also offer my congratulations. You have fought this battle tooth and nail and are finally ''up'' (dare I say winning)! It is a long hard road and yet your courage, determination and strength has allowed you to get to the point you are today. Long may it continue.

Did you do anything to honour the day?

I hope you are proud of yourself 🙂 You have my utmost admiration and respect.

Congrats once again!
