i do not think anyone who has not been through this can understand this. It is the worst.
It is difficult, by coming on here you have made the first steps towards your recovery.
Your diary does not give to much away but we are all here for the same reasons.
there are some things I have found helpful recently:
-100% honesty is the best policy - if that with family, friends, creditors, councillors, your diary....
-keep writing in your diary, even if it is rubbish or unrelated to gambling it fills time and helps focus the mind
- take active steps to prevent gambling, Gamblock, self exclusion, give someone you trust control of your finances
-go to a GA meeting! It's daunting but well worth it
- call gamcare for a chat... This was my first point of call
-do something positive each day that isn't gambling, gym, reading, writing, walking, talking, voluntary work! It fills time and makes you feel good
- if in financial difficulties contact the citizens advice bureau, it is free and helpful in budget planning and debt management
I hope that helps, I am sure you have heard it all before and know all of this. In the past I have tried half heartedly to stop, this time I am using everything in my armoury to beat this as I have never wanted to stop so much in my life.

Well, I've been through it and I know how it feels and it's a horrible feeling. BUT... having said that there is always time for a new start.
Affected by gambling?
