Day 81 zipped past, now on to Day 82 which also looks like a busy day ahead.

Dear diary

No thought on gambling keeping myself busy seems to be the key so I have decided to make sure I have a book on the go for when ever I am at a loose end. Trying to get organised at work is like trying to walk up hill in roller skates, my old manager has left it in a bit of a mess to say the least so I am trying to sort that out plus get my head around the actual work, I think if I work for 24 hours a day for the next few weeks I might get there! Ha ha As it is only temporary it does feel like I shouldn't be putting things in place as the new manager will want to sort it their own way but on the other hand I can't work with everything upside down. I am waffling!! Sorry diary.....!

Anyway back to why I am here, 82 days!! Almost 12 weeks .......woop woop!! I CAN DO THIS!!! Xx

Day 85

Dear diary

Goodness!! Wow what a busy week!! Totally knackered but on the plus side NO gambling and only fleeting thought. I know I could go on line now and spend my salary 10 times over but I almost know I wont and deep down dont want too!! Work is really helping being busy is the key for me.

Xx

Hi Jane, keeping busy def works, boredom is a major trigger factor for many gamblers, a counsellor once told me , to learn something new, keep your mind stimulated, start playing a musical instrument, do a course, read a book, run , joing a gym, the list is endless. Keep busy, the old time , money , location triangle!.

Well done and keep it up

Thank you for your comments, I have been so busy at work this week working late most nights, I am so ready for my weekend off in which I will be mostly doing nothing!

I have been asked if I want to stay as "acting" manager until July not totally sure I have made the right choice but hey ho we will see - I am enjoying it most of the time, today hasn't been such a good day but I will spend my weekend getting over the stress ready for a new week. This evening I plan to have a few glasses of pink wine and chill out.......no thoughts of gambling today other than a fleeting thought as I REALLY REALLY want a new car .........but I know I wont i will just keep saving xx

Hi Jane keep the good work up, I hate that loads of companys give you "acting" job but still pay you there old rate lol! nightmare.

Focusing on a new car is excellent, you know you wont be able to do that if you gamble. Its something postive to aim for !

Not far off 100 days now

Whoop whoop indeed 🙂

For what it's worth, I think you have absolutely made the right choice to stay 'acting' even if it has been a bit stressful this past week! Aside from the experience you are getting it shows a complete willingness on your behalf & if I was in charge, I would promote you on the strength of caring enough to stay late!

Odd for me your sentence that you thought about gambling because you wanted a new car as it reads as though the gambling could provide you one? For me as Gav says, (now I'm in recovery) I feel that gambling only ever managed to push me away from stuff that I wanted! So was wonderful to hear the follow up that you know you're not going to 🙂 Good on you kicking the lies of the gambling demons right into touch!

Keep @ it - ODAAT
