Hello Everyone - Been here before. Was looking to have a gamble free 2020, that was broken about 2 weeks into the year. Starting again tomorrow for a fresh February. Really need to get this under control. I'm in a debt management plan, slowly paying back my debt. I'm in a decent job, being only 20 years old, my career path is looking good. But I can't let gambling ruin my life. I had blocks on most of my devices but I always seem to find a way around them..
Anyways. I'm sticking to this now, I can't remember the last time I went a month gamble free. I'm going to put an end to this once and for all. I'll try to update and write something everyday!
Welcome unknown!!!! Firstly whilst ur still sick of gambling to the best blocks in place so that once the temptation is back you have all the best blocks preventing you from gambling then even if you do stumble you have tried your best:
1) Gamstop stopping online gambling,
2) Sense scheme (go into a casino to sign up so that you can no longer use any uk casino agin)
3) Self exclude from all local bookies, again there is a phone number and you post a photo and they distribute to all bookies you live near.
4) Limit your access to money if possible after bills mortgage etc transfer all money to a loved one or close fried for them to look after (I transfer to my dad then when I need any I just ask).
5) when going out to town leave cards at home (if you don't go in bookies or go on fruit machines in pubs now in the future you might so leave no stone unturned).
Ive learnt this the hard way I went from online poker to casino to bookies to pubs to clubs in order to gamble one by one I knocked them on the head to the point where I don't take cards out anymore unless im travelling further afield. I have gone from spending 8000 after bills in 2016 to 1600 after bills in 2019. I keep a track of my money now and it works really well.
good luck and welcome I also come on chat every night at 8pm to help others and to get advice its also quite fun and everyones cool.

Hi unknown. I am 21 and I feel like I am in a similar situation! I gamble most days and find it hard to stop. I have a decent job and life and don’t want this to ruin it. Hope to hear an update soon. Take care
Hey
dont let it eat away at you. Get all stops in place. I just wish the help that’s out there now was there for me 19 years ago as it’s taken myself that time to realise how big my problem was. Once a compulsive gambler you will never stop until you have nothing left. Stay strong and build a better future. The money I have lost to gambling I could have bought a house outright. Stay strong
Hi guys - Thanks for the comments. Definitely going to look back into blocks for my devices. It's going to be a really tough month but we all need to look at the bigger picture. I gamble to escape. To escape any problem in my life. I need to tackle them head on. Good luck everyone. Will update soon.
Affected by gambling?
