Hi... Ive been watching the news about all the floods. My commiserations,it must be very difficult just now. They say that after todays rains, next week the weather will settle down and hopefully the waters will start to recede. Thoughts are with you.

I admire your strength of character at this difficult time. When the going gets tough unfortunately I crumble all to easy. Something for me to work on.

Take care... S.A

Thanks again folks and just a quick flyby as hassle with laptop, battery and charger and phone.

Four different sofas in four days over the weekend. Gives you a different perspective on life to be wandering this way with my car filling up steadily with the detritus of my every day life on the road.

Sadly I cracked on Saturday after six weeks of stress and took a hour out when I stopped for coffee at the motorway services. Have put a very low cash limit on my card at the moment and nothing in my purse so knew it would not, could not lead to a major disaster but its the mind f*** afterwards and the feeling of failure so back on track now.

Have missed reading and writing on here regularly and have been thinking often of others whether they are struggling, unwell or rejoicing at their success as none of these things are easily lived through with the default setting we have.

Houseboat is still afloat although I still cannot get anywhere near as yet so a great weight lifted that she can survive the recent storms and the river at its highest ever.

Spent today with my grandchildren so exhausted and work tomorrow so over and out for now before battery fades again.

Hi ya... sorry to hear that it all got a bit much and you took time out at the machines. I can appreciate how it happened especially being away from your home for so long but on a positive you had protected yourself by limiting your access to funds.

I hear on the news that the floods are just now starting to recede. I hope that by the weekend you may be able to get to your boat. Take care.. S.A

Still a travelling g***y life but hopefully not too much longer and as you say Sandra then the big clean up begins.

Have ordered a new charger for my laptop so hopefully will get tomorrow and can start using this site again as my laptop managing about three minutes at a time at the moment.

No time for individual wishes in diaries but for anyone reading this, hope life is good or gets good real soon.

Was taken to see this film today by 7 year old grandson no better way to spend my money.

DF

Glad to know you may have a return to the boat soon.

Seems a strange thing to write.

That floods meant you couldn't live on your boat !!

I hope the country learned a valuable lesson and the future damage is better cared for.

A great deal like us in recovery, lessons learnt.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

"Do not ask your children

to strive for extraordinary lives.

Such striving may seem admirable,

but it is the way of foolishness.

Help them instead to find the wonder

and the marvel of an ordinary life.

Show them the joy of tasting

tomatoes, apples and pears.

Show them how to cry

when pets and people die.

Show them the infinite pleasure

in the touch of a hand.

And make the ordinary come alive for them.

The extraordinary will take care of itself."

― William Martin, The Parent's Tao Te Ching

It has been the simple things that have helped me through the frustration and worry of the past few weeks, I am not going to get all hippyfied here but I do have constant reminders of the important things in life - people not possession.

DF,

Truly great words, thank you for sharing, I am pleased to see you start finding at least that little balance in your days. Pendulum of life goes both ways, only the matter of time for then it stops in a middle..

Peace and happiness darling

Take care

Than you Sandra and will be in touch.

Struggling to type today as had two humungous injections in my palm yesterday - ouch - but will be worth it when swelling goes down.

Had intended trying to get home today but cant manage with dodgy hand so will try tomorrow instead. Have heard all the sewers are blocked and pumping station will take six weeks to repair, he ho and they flew someone to the moon in the sixties but cant even keep our loos flushing.

Lots of sad items in the news recently or is it just I am over sensitive at the moment, humanity not very kind to each other at the best of times are we. Have been reading about the native American Indians and their ideas about nature and thinking about how we have messed up our world in more ways than one. Sad to see so many young people joining this site as an indicator of how progressive this addiction is, makes me feel like standing outside the casino with a placard warning of the dangers of this innocuous looking pastime.

Insane how I can think so logically one minute and yet still have the gambling woodpecker constantly tapping at my skull.

So, write whatever you choose and however often. I am always reading and never judging you my good friend Dragonfly. (((((((DF)))))))) -joanxxxx
