day 102....
Leigh, signalman and A9, thanks so much, never thought when I started going down this road I would make it this far. There's still more to achieve but without gambling I feel anything is within reach.
I don't write to inspire but if it has that effect then great. I can honestly say I've read as many diaries as I can on here. They have inspired me, genuinely good people that got sucked in to a horrible way of life that have then turned it round.
My other half sent me an email today saying how much she fancied me at the moment because I seemed relaxed and happy. Made me smile after all these years together and all the pain I have caused.
standard day in work today, busy, busy. had to go to occupational health yesterday, wasn't sure what it was really for, turned out it was to see if I was ready to return to work. I've been back 4 weeks so seemed a bit daft but ticked a box I suppose.
played footy tonight, was great to run again after feeling a bit stiff for a few days.
Hope everyone has had a good day.
take care,
A
day 106....
nice relaxing Sunday today, sofa day with my better half. we can talk and chill as opposed to me glued to my phone checking results. I feel more involved and present in everyday situations now. Seems silly but means a lot to be aware of everything around me.
went running yesterday, great to get the legs moving after taking it easy for a few days post race. I will keep up the routine of running and reading, both life savers in terms of keeping my mind focused.
finally got my letter from healthy minds, 106 days after self referring. I'm going to see them on Tuesday. I'll update with how it goes.
have a good day all.
take care,
A
Hey A,
Many congratulations on passing over 100 days gamble free, you should be really proud of that achievement. Like myself, I'm pretty sure that many other members on here enjoying reading your frequent posts. You're an inspiration to so many on here and if anybody else on here is at day one today, I hope they take the time to read your posts as you've proved that it is possible to better yourself. You've shown that it never was going to plain sailing making it this far, but with determination, honesty and will power, you've shown that anyone is able to turn their life around and repair themselves.
Well done mate! Keep going! You've travelled this far along your road to recovery, so tomorrow, why not travel a little further.
Also, many congratulations on completing the half marathon. Something else you should be really proud of.
All the best.
Ry.
