Few days since i last posted, had some ups and downs but overall things are stable. No gambling which is always a bonus and why we come on here.

I have had a couple of hard days at work, physically and mentally draining with very little reward or sense of achievement. I now have a much needed 3 days off before i start night shifts on friday.

As i said earlier i still havent had a bet, occasionally i have had fleeting thoughts of gambling mainly if mood is low or i am bored, but i am learning to deal with these quickly and move my attention to something else.

I have started back at the gym, my fitness levels are low and achilles tendon is very stiff, i guess there is something to turn my attention to.

I have a busy month of work ahead of me, but i am looking into booking a short holiday with some friends at the end of september... it something to work towards, a light at the end of the tunnel, and a goal to get into some sort of shape for the beach.

off to the pub now for a pint and a catch up with my dad.

89 days - not far to the big 100!!! just need to keep focused

well today is day 91, things still heading in a good direction. I have had a semi productive day, been to the gym done a little bit of shopping.

I will shortly be going to my GA meeting, then onto work for a night shift. looking forward to the GA meeting, missed the past two due to work commitments. It will be nice to go along, have a chat and check in with the group.

Not much more to report, will update further after the weekend.

had two days off to recover from my night shifts at the weekend, in a good place, working hard, exercising hard at the gym, need an early one tonight as i am in work for the next three days.

Got an appointment with my specialist tomorrow. I am hopefully going to get discharged. come such a long way. I injured my ankle approx a week after i stopped gambling, broke up with the mrs, moved home, lost so much money and respect, Loss of respect from others and myself. Well i am finally starting to see a real difference in myself. it has been a really hard 3 months, i cant say i have enjoyed it, there has been alot going on.

I hope that finally things are taking a turn for the better, they have to at some point, work is going ok, back at the gym, got m motorcycle project that i am cracking on with, any debts are nearly paid off and savings are on their way up. I guess all of that is a positive.

just need to stay on track now, determined to make this work!!!

Big Yawn, I am tired today, i didnt sleep well last night. I think it was a combination of to much late night caffine and recovery from nights.

Saw the specialist today, discharged from clinic, and referred to physiotherapy which i am excited for. Need to get this calf back to its normal size!!!

work in a couple of hours which i am not thrilled about but hey... think if the money! just three days in and then 3 days off so cant complain to much.

Day 99, absolutely shattered, been working really hard recently, long stressfuls shifts. Thankfully i have a long weekend to recover before another stint of night shifts.

Just 1 day off the 100 day milestone. pretty confident i will smash my way through it. No urges to gamble, dont want to be anywhere near it. I see the 100 days as a milestone to recognise but in reality it is just a fraction of what i want to be a lifetime away from gambling.

it is a bright sunny day today, i should be greatful for what i have got, a job, shelter, supporting family and friends. for that i am greatful everyday!!! i do regret my gambling past, i regret the hurt i have caused to others, the brekdown of relationships. I feel like i have a better understanding of what has happened, why i gambled and what i need to do to stop.

I think i have myself to thank for that, but also the Gamcare councelling team and the Local GA meeting which i attend, i am just sorry that this clarity was not reached many years ago.

Day 99, i have alot to be positive about and my spirits are generally high. I am going to better myself this year, i am going to become more focussed on my career, put more effort into my relationships with friends and family, i am going to pay off any debts i have amassed and save what i can for a deposit on a house. there will be no more lying to myself and others, honesty is the best policy! Abd i am never going to forget that day it all came crashing down.

Thanks for the message of encouragement, the first three weeks are the hardest, soon the days will pass, you will find you think freely, get jobs done, have money to do things, have time on your hands. a few main tips. You will read it over and over on here

1) Time / Place/ Money take one of these out of the equation and you cant bet

2) Gam care counselling - well worth it

3) What ever you do get to a GA meeting

4) Self exclude and close accounts

5) be honest and tell everyone close to you that you feel comfortable disclosing to - a problem shared is a problem halved

Stay positive, things will crop up, stress, triggers, just think laterally on how to avoid gambling!

good luck and keep me posted

Well today is day 100, feels good to have reached this milestone. Weather is ok today so i am going to get myself out and about and maybe treat myself to something from she shops. Big Steak for tea!

Just need to continue the way i am going, and stay on this track, well aware that one little slip and i will spiral out of control like o did last time.
