Hi Flagg,

Sorry I did not check in on the gamble free thread yesterday. I see from wot uv said that 4 the people that have not checked in, u r gonna be removing their names. So if u want 2 remove my name tha's fine, I am still gamble free neway!

Just my opinion tho I think there as 2 be some flexibility tho, maybe if ppl don't sign in 4 2 wks running then maybe remove their name?

Neway it's ur thread, ur rules. So up 2 u just my thoughts!

Have a gr8 wknd 🙂

Hello mate, that was some post, agreed with what you said tho. Unfortunetly havent't read what mike put (either been moved or deleted). Although maybe im fortunate that i didnt read it.

Keep your recovery going mate, lead the way and im right behind ya.

I havent been through your diary, i do like to read peoples stories, i even read S.A diary, that took a while. Im reading through Stegordons at the minute. Dont know what it is exactly but certainly helps my recovery. Knowing people are goingthrought the same thing, feeling the same pain and reminds me of the pain i had but ultimately reminds me that this addiction can be beat. Thats enough rambling just wanted to say i'll be catching up with your story very soon and i'm wishing you all the best.

Yo,

The good news is I have two double deckers , the bad news, forgot to put them in the fridge .........

More like ice cream topping now.

I did follow the posts from last night , and read Mikes before he deleted it. I too felt under attact, your return post was spot on .

I am not good with confrontation ( outside the work place) , feel even though the sun is shining, a big fat cloud is hanging over this site this morning .

Trying to find positives , trying to come to terms with my feeling about it all .

Anyways enjoy your weekend , ......

Morning Diary,

Day 112 - The site seems to be extremely quiet. I hope it's because the majority are having a lovely bet free weekend. Infact, I know in some cases that is true. However, I cannot help but think there are some who feel really down about the comments thrown around over the last couple of days.

I remain clear of feeling any guilt, and I have received much appreciated support from people I respect a great deal so my commitment to this site and my own recovery has not diminished even a tiny bit.

I hope the site is re-invigorated over the coming days as many really use this as a huge aid in recovery myself included.

Have another nice Sunday ahead today. It's crazy thinking I used to dislike them so much. Only downside is the weeks fly by, the weekends zoom by. Ill be old before I know it 🙂

Right off to start Sunday properly with a run and then a game of football sounds good to me. Oh and then I get to eat pancakes to just offset all the positive exercise lol should I bother with the first part!

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Flagg,

Not been active on the site that much in the past two weeks and have no idea what happened last night but I just wanted to thankyou for your post on my diary a few days ago, which was much appreciated as always.

I am a little jealous of your previous post relating to going a run and having a game of football. I pulled my hamstring for the second time in three weeks ten minutes into my first game of the new season yesterday and will probably be inactive for a few weeks. This couldn't have come at a worse time for me because I am due to run a half marathon in five weeks.

Anyway, I am happy to see you are gamble free and working hard at your recovery.

Keep up the good work.

Tomso.

Diary,

Day 113 - Thanks to all for your messages always appreciated and I never tire of reading other diaries and stories, always good to be reminded we are battling the same thing!

Way too much exercise yesterday I looked like a man twice my age yesterday afternoon really struggled but today I wouldn't say spring chicken but I'm ok and ready for more! Now I feel I have some control back in life ive got quite determined to keep the exercise going, if I'm intent on having a better life I might aswell look the part too!

Was thinking last night after reading a few diaries how important it is not to get complacent! It's often said on here but I don't think it can be stressed enough how vital it really is! I have reached 113 days so 4 months is very close now! It's easy to think ok I won't gamble anymore but I've read or heard stories recently of people going 5 months, 9 months a year etc and then going back! Just really conscious today of being on my toes and staying aware of what I am fighting off each day! I sometimes think its ok my barriers are in place so I'm safe but in reality it wouldn't take much to remove a barrier! I am exactly 70 days away from my next target of 183 days (half a year) 10 weeks today I hope I can look back at this post and say I stayed on guard, I kept the barriers and I'm still going strong!

Day 113 - 70 to go!

HI Flagg,

Thanks for your post, had a great weekend away down south and yes it rains there to, my BF is always teasing me saying it never rains but it bucketed it down on sunday lol.

Great post and yes i dont think we can ever become complacent, and if we can find that fine balance of not living in the addiction every day but living along side it.

The reasons why we shouldnt be complacent are the same irrespective of 1 day in to recovery or 1 year into it, something I remind my self of when needed.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Flagg, thanks for popping into my diary, nice to hear others comments etc and really puts perspective on where we can get to if the "gambling" is gone!

Bet it must have been nice to talk about reaching your half years goal, and I am more than certain with a little bit of hard work you will make it and much more

Stay strong

Steve

Day 114 - No gambling thoughts today, no gambling urges today! Way too busy at work and once again find myself wondering where I found the time to gamble when it is this busy!! Answers on a postcard because I'm baffled!
