Hey Flagg,

Thanks for the post on my diary, which is much appreciated. I love reading that you are on a health kick. I loved running my half marathon and loved that I committed myself to training for it. I got the rewards albeit two and a bit minutes off my target time but I will right that wrong in the next race. My running has defo given me something to focus on and kept me away from the dread of gambling. I believe we need something different to focus on and I love that you are doing the same. I was doing three or four five milers during the week and a long run at the weekend. I wish I did a little more hill running. Like everything else in life when you work hard at something and begin to see the benefits you start to feel good about yourself.

Really pleased that you have went over 150 days gamble free. Isn't it amazing that after all the turmoil and worry we are starting to take control of our lives.

I wish you well.

Tomso.

Good Evening Diary,

Day 159 - Late post for me but it's been a really busy day and I just about managed to check in on the 90 day thread earlier today. Other than that it's been non stop.

Anyway, good news is no thoughts of gambling at all and really happy to still be cruising in that very popular middle. Even better is that I now have no work for a week I intend to relax but exercise strange combo isn't it!

Wishing everyone a great weekend.

Day 159 - Straight down the middle

Morning Diary,

Day 160 - Just 23 days left until my next target. If the next 23 days are as nice as the last 23 then I will sail past that target and power on toward the next one. The next one I have yet to decide, I guess it's that balance between looking toward the future but taking it one day at a time. The secret really is the future will only be brighter by taking it one day at a time. Whole thing sounds like a riddle.

Anyway off for second game of season now. Hoping to follow up last weeks good start. Then have visitors this weekend to entertain. Not usually my thing really but I am getting better another bonus to not having a bet eh!

Wishing all a good Saturday.

Day 160 Visitors!!

Hope the game went well both with the footy and the visitors! Thanks for your post the other day. My weeks been a bit mental so havent had a lot of time to catch up. I share yor fears about all the advertising it really is getting worse and I think I'm only now realising just how many adverts they have and sponsors etc. I think in time it'll become like smoking and theyll be a ban. But to be honest I don't care, I know it's probably not what a lot of people on here will like to read but I just try not to think about what the bookies are doing - In sense that I have always blamed myself for my gambling. Yes the bookies/websites I suppose make it easy and lure you in perhaps but I have always said its my decision so it's my fault and I think accepting that responsibility has helped me.

You mentioned the 90 day thread. I can't believe we're on the home stretch!! Less than a month to go and it'll be complete. You should feel proud as I know it's help me a bundle and helped a lot of others also. I think after it I'll be ok as I'll be 5 months gamble free and it'll lead nicely on to my next target which will have to be 6 months. But then I may come a bit stuck for a new target/goal. So if there is an Xmas thread, I'll be on it. But that's up to. Youve done great with this thread and if you wanna leave it or if you wanna hand over the reins to someone else then that's more than fine.

I always appreciate the support and I think your thread has got me over that bump where I'd usually crumble. So I'll always be gratefull for that. Roll on party time in a few weeks when we celebrate day 91 - last check in.

Hi Diary,

Day 161 - Approaching the end of another enjoyable, pleasant, and bet free weekend. On numerous occasions I have mentioned my previous dislike for them particularly Sundays. I guess it just shows how much gambling played a part in that Sunday loathing. Today has been non stop and literally just looked at the clock couldn't believe it was 4.30.

Big bonus tonight though is not getting up tomo well not for work anyway. Have a week off and comes at a decent time really. Not been craving and longing for it like last time but I think it's needed just for a battery recharge.

As I post today I reach the end of week 23 and just 22 days away from my 183 day target. 183 days without losing a single penny now that would be quite something. Doesn't put right all the mistakes, lies, and losses of the previous few years but it certainly is one mighty step in the right direction and I will be proud of my achievement 22 days from now!!

Day 161 - 22 Days and counting!

Hello,

Day 163 - Under 3 weeks now until target! Much like yday feeling good and well on my way to another bet free day! Kinda feel I have just being going through the motions with regards my diary recently! I guess that's is inevitable as time passes by a bit less to say, fewer things to worry about! I will continue to post daily even if it isn't much just to keep those days rolling and maintaining the day at a time philosophy which serves me and many others so well!

Less drama the better really!

Day 163 - 20 days!

Yo,

Looks to me that your feet are well and truly planted in the middle .

The dramas in your life have become the normal dramas people cope with everyday . And as you are dealing with them as a matter of course , they hold less weight therefore life has found balance .

I suppose this is closest you can come to living in harmony with your addiction.

I see your posts today , as a testament to that and it gives me more hope than that I will find that toooooo.

Enjoy you time off , no doubt pounding the streets ,upping you milage for your next challenge .

Take care my friend

Shiny xxxxxxx
