Day 103 and gambling free. One day at a time - today's that day.

Good morning dear friend and a big thank you for visiting my diary.

The guides of jaded Roch are feeling rather jolly

For the man they're watching over has recognised his folly

And angel wings are fluttering mid scenes of jubilation

As a noble gamcare warrior eyes the road to liberation. 

Aum?

What did I miss? I looked away and the chat room suddenly closed

I would say it's because of the acrimony caused by one of our number on the Group Chat tonight Debsy, and so the CM called a halt.  A shame, because I like the last 5 minutes when we all say our fairly-wells!

Hopefully we'll be extra prepared for the next time Debsy.  As we know, this recovery is tough enough and negative vibes don't help.  Ah well.  Lovely to chat to you again. And we carry on 🙂

Day 104. One day at a time. Today's that day.

I just wanted to say thankyou for always being so understanding and what you posted on my diary you get it you really do. Your support is heartwarming

Thank you Lou, for your kind words.  Just the thing to put a spring in my step on Day 105 where, just for today, whatever else happens, one thing I won't do is ... gamble.

Day 106.  And, for today only, I choose not to gamble.  As simple as that!

There is nothing untoward

That Roch cannot put right

For he has the heart of a lion

Ready and willing to fight

Moving on courageously 

With good friends by his side

And if the road gets bumpy 

Than he just enjoys the ride

For he is a gamcare warrior

A proud and noble man

And if addiction tells him he can't 

He bravely shouts "I CAN"

Thank you for the marvellous poem Stephen; steadfast and sure, while the billows roll, as I used to belt out in the Boy's Brigade many moons ago!

Day 108.  Have I been tempted?  Yes, of course.  Have I succumbed? No.  Why is that?  I'm putting in place solid blockers so I can't gamble even if I wanted to. Also, I remind myself, daily, what this is all about. A better present and a better future.

Day 109. Just for today, I've taken a decision not to gamble.

Day 110.  (Where does the time go...?)  Just for today, I choose not to gamble.  Even I can manage that much.

Day 111. Today, this Friday, I promise not to gamble. Just for today.

111 days without a bet and summer just around the corner.

Life is an adventure to be enjoyed. All kinds of wonderful opportunities to live life to the full.
