Thank you Stephen as I bid farewell to my 70s ... and look determinedly towards Day 80 tomorrow.

A superb ditty to prepare me and send me on my way ... Day 79 has never looked so fine!

Always one blessed day at a time 🙂

??? 80 Days GF ???

Our man Roch on a journey of rediscovery. His great adventure into the unknown.

Minstrels foreso the arrival of this great warrior and sung of his exploits in popular ballads :

"We Will Roch You" by Queen.

"Roching All Over The World" by Status Quo.

And from "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" by Simon & Garfunkle" we we were given the memorable phrase: "And a Roch feels no pain and an island never cries."

Keep up the good work ?

Aum ?

Stephen, if I could I'd buy you a big plate filled chocca (literally) with Ferrero Rocher ....

Thank you for this illuminating journey down memory lane in respect of these great performers.

I've seen the Quo live and Paul Simon is a songwriter/singer par excellence IMHO. And Queen ... well say no more!

Lovely thoughts as I hit Day 81. Just for today, no gambling for me. Don't want the pain of it, nor the financial loss. Can't be bothered with it, just for today.

Hi Roch,

Just sat and read your diary in full. it truly is inspiring with the effort you have put into your recovery, and I am a firm believer of taking "one day at a time"

Thank you also for the support and friendliness in the chat room, it makes a big difference to us all.

Well done on 84 days, a massive achievement!

S x

Thank you for your kind comments, Stephen 🙂

Day 85. Just for today, I choose not to gamble.

Also cheered by an article in The Guardian today.  GAMSTOP uptake is up!  Sadly, problem gambling, thanks to lockdown, is up, too.

But at least more of us are taking control of our lives.

If there is ONE THING we can do to show sincerity and show we're serious about dealing with our problem gambling, joining GAMSTOP is an excellent start.  Support must follow, but at least do this!

Hi just read the article. Good and highlights increase in gambling harm but the only bad thing about it .... The huge ad for gambling at the top of the page !! Anyway hopefully people read the article and helped some people, I really needed something like that when I was gambling as I didn't know what to do to help myself stop. I only got help when I googled " help I need to stop gambling " and the wonderful Gamcare was the first site that came up. It was through the advisors that I found out about gamstop.

Charlieboy - thank you for your message which certainly made me laugh as I pictured the massive gambling banner splashed across the Guardian (anti-gambling) article!  It just goes to show how invasive these adverts are eh.  I agree Gamcare is a godsend which continues to help so many people keep it real and manage this addiction using lots of tools and approaches at our disposal.  Meantime, keep it going, my friend - this is a journey in the right direction.

Stephen (Aum) - thank you, as always, for your kind message.   I can't believe I'm on Day 86 although the days are getting longer the closer I get to 100.  Like approaching the zero horizon on a black hole; time crawling to a halt.  Strange. But no bother - one day at a time, as always, my simple goal.
